FAT and SUGAR help....please:))

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone new how much sugar and fat we should be taking in (generally standard for everyone). I have finally got my calories, sodium and net carbs under control (they were a mess!!!)....but now I am struggling to keep myself under MFP's alotted sugar and fat intake. I read online for sugar between 40-100 grams for sugar.....as far as fat....well, I didnt get much info. today I was way over in sugar but, it seems that happened, basically from fruit and the sugar that is already in the "healthy" food. I DID, however find that the raisin bran and vanilla soy milk was higher than anything else (vanilla soy 7g and raisin bran 20g...YIKES) I eat raisin bran for fiber...but today am kissing it good bye..... everything else was what I read to be "good sugar"....even from the mango I ate.....do I count it all? I am so confused......
The same with fat. I have had almonds, cooked with olive oil, had fish oil and flaxseed supplements and an avocado.....this would be good fats right??? do I count that?....if I go over in good fat, what happens? of course the other food I have eaten has fat but I wouldnt say terribly bad levels...like 1g here and 3g there....I AM losing weight, so I am good in that department....I just want to have a well balanced diet and find out what it means to go over MFP's setting:)) Any advice would be greatly appreciated:)) Thanks in advance!!

It depends what you eat, not all sugar or fat is created equal. fat and sugar from a Twinkie is bad, fat and sugar from an avocado, nuts, fruit etc isn't bad for you at all.. Unless a doctor told you that you have a problem with your blood work and need a specific amount I wouldn't stress too much about it.
You are obviously not eating a ton of fat since it is almost double the calorie load per gram of protein or carbohydrates.

But yes, healthy fats are really good for you, so don't stress out too much over it unless you have cholesterol problems.0 -
I think fat is fat, and sugar is sugar no matter the content. Sugar still metabolizes the same way. If you like raisin bran, eat it in moderation. This is way I MFP so much, because I am learning to incorporate the things I like. Milk also has alot of sugar, I think I would limit the raisin bran to 2.-3 days a week.

Look for the hidden sugar, the high fructose corn syrup and that stuff. Just be aware of the labels and I'm sure you will be eating well.0

my sugars seems always 2 be over but not by much and its from things that r meant 2 be healthy foods, but am nt 2 worried cause i dont actually have anything with sugar added, ive been trying to look at where it goes over and then when i see somethinks quite high, next time i have it i make sure with other things that r lower does that make sense 2 u0

Thanks everyone!! I think I'll keep doing what I have been doing...reading labels and watching for added sugar...I'm actually really proud of myself...last week I threw away a huge trash bag of seasoning salts and sugar stuff plus a whole container of sugar..I even stopped eating that sugar oatmeal I've eaten my whole life....haven't missed the salt or the sugar at all plus the family ( husband and small children) is adjusting well...which is why I have been frustrated seeing MFP' s sugar and fat levels over EVERY day..thx for the feedback:)) I'll be mindful but will stop stressing over it:))0
