I'm starting to train for my first 5K and could really use some new music to add to my iPod. I like a variety of music, for example, hip hop/rap, alternative, pop, R&B/Soul, Reggae, and rock. What are some of your favorite, most motivational, music on your iPod right now?

For me: S&M by Rihanna, Don't Stop Believin' by Journey, Golddigger by Kayne West, and Hips Don't Lie by Shakira.

On the rare occasions I run (...walk) in a controlled (i.e. treadmill) or repetitive (i.e. track) environment, I like music without words, such as Ambient "rave" music like Shpongle. Sometimes even Classical!

When I am out road-running (...walking), I don't feel safe wearing earbuds. I can't hear if someone is coming up behind me, or some-thing, like a loose dog or a car.

    Be safe!

RhiAnna always gets me going. "what's my name" & "rude boy" - makes me feel good and gives me the attitude I need to get moving. There are many others too....

I agree - I want to listen to my music when I'm out on the road but - I have to be able to hear my surroundings. Interesting song choices... I like!
