Eating more than 1200 calories?

Technically, we will still lose weight if we eat around 1500-1700 calories right? That's not factoring exercise calories or lifestyle differences. I'm asking this for general cases.

I eat 1500-1600 net calories every day. Until just recently (because of stress and other issues) I was steadily losing weight, about 1-1.5 pounds per week. But for some that can be too much. It all depends on what your body and your metabolism need.0

Well, if you're a thirty year old 200lb male, then yes, definitely, if you're a 25 year old 120lb female, at 1500 yes, but at 1700 maybe not. It's really hard to say without at least knowing someone's BMR.0

PS. I'm pretty sure NoAdditives works out like a machine. Just sayin' .0

I very rarely eat 1200...try to keep it between 1400-1600 and obviously I'm losing weight with nothing more then a couple 1 hour power walks a week.0

Not for the last two weeks, but generally I burn 500-600 cals in an hour at the gym.0 -
I'm 6'1" 43 yo female current weight of 182.4 and am losing weight at 1520 calories a day. Right now I think my maintenance is like 2050. Granted it's only about 1lb a week but for me that's ok.
I have no workouts set in my goals as I do not work out regularly and when I do it's usually something like walking or maybe an adventurous day will be the elliptical but my burns are anywhere from 2-700 calories so they're small, few and far between and I try to eat back most of what I burn.
My life is really pretty sedentary, I have major back problems, work in an office and really only get up more than once a shift if I'm drinking my water like I should be so there's not much break time activity in my day. I'm slowing trying to regain my flexibility and hopefully redevelop my core strength so that I can get back to strength training to tone my arms and legs. Mostly I focus on my food so that I don't have to worry if I don't work out.
I've lost 17lbs since January 1st and I'm happy with my progress. I'm far from a machine but I'm no potato either :bigsmile:0
