I love popsicles. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Popsicles. I could very easily eat them all day. How much weight do you think one would lose eating just popsicles for about a week?

    Just popsicles? You will lose weight, but I imagine you'll feel pretty run down. The week after you'll likely put back on some of the weight. There is no easy way out. :tongue:

    I would love to go further with the diet, but I just want to see how effective it would be. Popsicles are expensive to eat by themselves, because they don't really fill you up very well.

    About half as much as you will gain back when you go back to normal eating habits.

    Look for realistic, sustainable eating habits. You can lose weight short term with this at the cost of your body function/systems. But the loss can't be maintained, unless you are planning a hunger strike. And you know how that will play out right?

    The question isn't how much you'll LOSE by only eating popsicles, but rather how much you'll gain back once your metabolism craps out.

    Agreed! That sounds horrible.

    The bottom line -- quick fix diets DO NOT WORK and horrible for your overall health.

    I don't like the subjugation and jeering of the MFP community. Yes, you may be more edified, but there is no necessity to present it in such an offensive manner. If you're really trying to help out, which is what most of these topics are about, then just say it plainly and with respect. Saying it in any other way only portrays your desire to be to essentially bully someone. Given, some people may actually not know what they're propounding is nutritionally erroneous (not saying that this OP is), and being answered by unnecessarily rude responses isn't helpful.

    That said, weight loss depends on how many calories you consume, but even if you did lose weight you'd be horribly lacking in vitamins and minerals...and you'd probably gain what weight you did lose once you resume your regular eating habits.

    Fair enough viewpoint, but you have to admit it's a bit bothersome when people show up and ask absolutely asinine questions that could easily be resolved if they spent all of 10 minutes reading the stickies. Or really, ANY information about nutrition/weightloss, etc.

    A lot of people here have spent a lot of time accumulating information that is readily presented in the stickies and/or by a cursory examination of the forums. When people show up and ask questions that makes it clear that they haven't bothered to do ANY investigation AT ALL are we supposed to welcome them with open arms after they have clearly evinced ZERO effort at educating themselves and simply want to be told what they want to hear to get some sort of quick fix?

    How many freakin' times are people supposed to say it "with respect" when the info people need is readily available WITHOUT THEM POSTING A SINGLE TOPIC?!?

    That being said, OP's 60 lb loss would suggest her topic is a bit tongue in cheek. I don't know about her, but I think I'd lose 10-20 lbs on an all-popsicle diet for a week, for what it's worth. Granted I am still quite obese, and individual results may vary.

    OMG you too! I lose a s***-ton of weight drinking. It's like freakin' magic.
