I tried to start this thread before and it kind of got missed by everyone. I just wanted a thread were us single parents could support eachother. But then I started thinking about how it's not just hard to be a single parent but single period in this world. And then that made me think. "Ed, everyone, single, married, whatever needs help". So this is just a simple thread to share your day, ask for tips, vent, gripe, laugh, whatever. I am just so very proud of everyone, and you are all so beautiful and wonderful. I just want to encourage each of you. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Well, i'm not single but sometimes i feel like it. 3 kids, married but my hubby's an Airman and with his current job (Drill instructor) he's not home much so i take care of everything. Plus i'm sure he will get deployed next year, so not looking forward to that.
Thankfully all of this has made me a stronger and more independent woman :-)0 -
I have a single parent vent of the day. In the last 2 months my one child started art therpy, my other had a MRI, genetic testing and other specialist appointment, i found out my ex is marrying the gal he cheated on me with and I bought a new car and had the cheque bounce (the one for the private sale of my old vehicle) ....then I got an overdue statement from my sons tutor saying that i haven't paid and when I called to say that I never got the bill they said they e-mailed them to me.....I told them when I signed up that my work screens e-mail and I don't have it at home so NOT to e-mail me bills...so now I have to pay interest on something I wasn't aware of...only to have the lady berate me for not realizing that I hadn't seen a bill.....with everything else going on in a single parent's life I just pay what comes in so as far as I was concerned I didn't owe anything (I know probably my fault), but now I have to shell out almost $300 that I don't really have right now to "pay" for my mistake.....oh well live and learn, I'll be marking that bill on the calendar from now on :laugh:0

Talk to a supervisor and try to get that bill reduced. if that doesn't work, talk to their supervisor.
We've all done it but it is a horrible feeling to make such a mistake. Keep talking to supervisors and calling back until they remove the interest. Threaten to file bankruptcy whatever it takes. Don't let anyone berate you. You told her yourside and backed it up with facts. It is a reasonable argument.
Good Luck! When it rains it pours. It will get better.0
