Hi everyone! I have my first 1/2 marathon on April 10......a little less than two weeks. I haven't really been following a training schedule just increasing my long runs. I came up with a training schedule for these last two weeks. From what I have read its good to taper off the last few weeks of training. Can some of you alumni marathoners take a peek and help a rookie out? (ETA I've run 12 miles many times and I am NOT new to running, just to a 1/2 marathon race). I'll start the schedule from this last Sunday and go to the race day. TIA!:flowerforyou:

3/27 Sun----18mile bike ride
3/28 Mon----5miles
3/29 Tues----12miles
3/30 Wed----Rest
3/31 Thurs----Rest
4/1 Fri----5miles
4/2 Sat----10miles
4/3 Sun---rest
4/4 Mon----5miles
4/5 Tues----8miles
4/6 Wed----Rest
4/7 Thurs----5miles
4/8 Fri---- 6miles
4/9 Sat---- Rest
4/10 Sun----RACE DAY

I think the distances on your last two runs are too high. I would just stick with easy 2 or 3 milers for those days. You taper so you can let your body recover and be strong and healthy for the race. Good luck!

I agree. If I remember off the top of my head, my last week calls for a 6, then a 3 and a 2.
