Can anyone suggest a good brand of scales?

I think my scales are finally on the way out, the number keeps jumping all over the place so I have no idea what number I currently am. (they are digital btw and I think they're about 4/5 years old!). I am slightly worried about getting new scales as I'm scared the number will be a pound or two higher than what I was when my scales were working correctly however I'd rather come up as a pound or two heavier and get a clear reading. Thanks!

  • I have the health o meter and love it. It's 6 yrs old and has always been dead on and never needed new batteries!

I like the Tanita digital scales. I have had one for years with no problems. And they measure your body fat % to boot.

I also have a health o meter scale and love...they are accurate and inexpensive! There are several different ones available depending upon if you only want to measure weight, or if you also want to measure fat percentage, hydration, etc.

I have one I ordered from the Sharper Image, it measures your body fat too, I have had it for almost 3 years and it has never failed me!

Same issues here. I googled and researched on Consumer's and read a ton of reviews. None were in any local stores within 50 miles for me.... I bought the only decent one I could find in stock (very well rated) and it was AWFUL! Every time I stepped on it changed! Back to the store it went... And back to my old changing scale and more frustration! Then, I just picked from the stock at wal-mart, frustrated that great scales were only mail order. What if they were like the same junky "great one" I bought and I had to return shipping or even worse, not be able to return it? I ended up with a Health o meter. It is 1-2 #s higher, but is largely consistent. I use both to track but trust the new one more than my much older one.... Not the best, but it's pretty good and under $30. Just my 2 cents, and curious what others say!

I personally like a brand that weighs me less each time. Hahaha

I know that they are all different, depending if you want digital or not. If you are looking for something esthetic or not, glass or clear, hit a button or if it beeps. I use the same one at work every morning for consistency.

Thanks for starting this thread! My scale is on its way out the door...I have to step on about 5 times to get an accurate reading. Thanks to your reviews I just ordered a Health o Meter body fat scale off of Amazon for $25 (including shipping). I think that's a great price, and I'm looking forward to getting it!

Now I'm scared to see if it is going to weigh me higher than my old scale. Eek!

I love the new weight watchers one that I bought last summer, under $25 and works great!
  • I have the weight watchers digital scale. It was only about 20 at Walmart, but is really accurate and can be programmed for up to 4 people so that you can set goals and it remembers your previous weight to show you your loss. I love it.

I have the same scale as the Weight Watcher one, it just doesn't have their logo on it. I am too lazy to go look at the brand, but it's pretty accurate. I will have to get the barbells out tomorrow to see just how accurate.

haha, try a cheap sunbeam scale from wal mart.. lol less than 20 dollars.. weigh you less by a pound vs.. weight watchers...
I have a weight watchers scale, and I like pretty well..
    Sunbeam makes me feel good..
Weight Watchers is as close to the one at the doctor's office for me.. And when weight watchers put me down..
I step on good ole sunbeam to make me feel good.. LOL But I run with the higher weight.. Always to be on the safe side.. Because I know.. Scales can never be 100%, but the fit of your clothes tells the truth a lot better than the scales..
    Good Luck...
