Hello MFP,

So I told my self that I would not shave my beard off until i reach my goal weight, I still trim, shape and groom it for work, but I'm not cutting it all off until I reach my gaol weight.

I would like to know if anyone else has done something like this or similar. : )

My hubby has always had a goatee. He shaved his off in order to "get a new mindset" and said he wasn't growing it back until he had dropped 25lbs. He's down approximately 18 or so.
He kinda quit on here but he hasn't grown his goatee back yet so I'm hoping he starts trying again!

I finished my right arm tattoo with my first goal weight of 225, next I'll finish my left arm when I get to 200. Oh and I used to have a full beard, just because it hid my chins.... now I shave everyday.

I've never done anything like that but it might be a good idea. Maybe I'll let my hair grow until I reach my goal weight...

It's a new spin on the athletes that refuse to cut their hair until they win a game, round, race, or match. Makes sense to me. If you work in a professional field where long hair may not be appropriate, the beard absolutely is a logical alternative. I will have to say that my husband shaved his goatee a couple of years back and I begged and pleaded until he grew it back out. Someone in your life may get accustomed to the groomed, existent facial hair, and decide they may not want you to shave it even when your goals are met. Just food for thought.

I think that's a good look.... if you keep it groomed... you might even get used to it... & keep it after you lose the weight.... me personally another tattoo I want to get once I reach my goal weight...

That's funny i was thinking about posting a topic about my beard today too... I have had a beard or some type of facial hair for the past 9 years or so and i have shaved it off completely maybe a handful of times.

When i was 300lbs I grew the bread because I thought it hid my double chin..haha and about 5 years ago i lost 80lbs and I maintained my weight at about 220lbs and kept my beard and about a year and a half ago I got down to under 200lbs, i told myself when i got under 200lbs i would shave it off and i did. I since then i have let myself go and was 230lbs in January and now i am 204lbs so i told myself again i would shave my beard off completely when i am 199lbs. So hopefully in about 2 weeks i will have a baby face again.

i bet it looks good, is it longer than in ur profile pic? if not u need to update lol. I said I won't cut my hair til i get to my goal weight. I've ALWAYS had long hair and I think that at my goal weight my face will be thin enough to pull off a short do like a cute bob :)
