So I always kinda took pride in the fact that my face was not wrinkly my hands were smooth etc. I am 41
Well now that I have lost this weight my face has kinda dropped Also my hands are soft but very wrinkled same with my feet. Wrinkled and thin the skin seems thin to me.
I know we all get older but is there anything you have used to firm your skin up? No matter where my face drops to I dont want to get it lifted surgically. Im just hoping to be hot in my 40's. Let my 50's be droopy
Thanks

Tag for later. Would be interested in see what people say. I'm 41 and refuse to get old and dumpy. I think I'm in better healthy than some of my friends in their 30's. I want to stay looking like I'm in my late 30s.0

If you can get a derm. to prescribe you Retin A, it may help, it speeds up cell turnover and forces collagen production which can help with firmness. Also look into a line from Serious Skin Care (HSN) called Reversa-Lift. I have not used it, but it gets good reviews.0

As someone who is 51 and still likes to look her best, this bothered me too. I read that almonds and walnuts are good and after a month of eating 6 almonds and 4 walnut halves per day my skin has definitely improved in texture. Obviously you have to still do the enough sleep, regular skincare of your choice, eat well routine as well.0

I am only in my 30's but after losing 60 lbs I noticed circles under my eyes and a little loose skin under my neck region. I started using Beauticontrol antiaging firming products and they have helped tremendously I also tried their firming body treatments and they are amazing. I loved them so much I started selling them so I could get the discount and introduce them to my friends. I was also a hardcore estee lauder and dior makeup user and stopped using that and switched to beauticontrol their makeup is better, you dont have to use as much when you apply and its CHEAPER! You can check out my site at www.beautipage.com/healthandbeauty I can also send you a book if you go to my site and hit skin s.p.a at the top and take the skin test it will give you your personal prescription of skin care and I think you will be able to put in your mailing information and I can mail you a book.
Have a great day and keep up the great work.0 -
Some spas and plastic surgeon's office offer amazing facials that help with that. I know my estitician uses this all natural product (there are several sessions involved and costs about $500 when it is all said and done) that apparently has amazing results. A girlfriend of mine had it done (haven't seen her yet) but she is so happy with the results.
Don't kid yourself live2smyle, you still want to be hot when you're in your 50s.0 -

This. Add some healthy fats to your diet. People are so scared of fats, but they are a miracle for so many things.0 -
I am in my late 60's and, yes I have wrinkles! However, after loosing weight, but staying active I have found that they diminish in time. Two important facts - (1) use sunscreen every day. I put it on when I wash my face in the morning, and reapply it a couple of times a day. (2) wear a hat whenever you are outdoors. The sun will really set in those wrinkles. Fat on your body stretches out the skin, it takes time for it to shrink back up again, and depending on how long you have been overweight, and how overweight you were determines how much the skin will go back into shape. I'd rather have wrinkles than be overweight.0

For starters, always wash your face "up". Gravity pulls your face down all day - it helps if twice a day you wash it using an upward motion with a traditional washcloth (to remove dead skin cells).
additionally use a skin care system...I use Mary Kay, but any system with cleanser, toner, & moisturizer w/ sunscreen will do. At night substitute the moisturizer with a "night cream."
Liberally apply sunscreen every day to your face and hands whether you plan on going outside or not. Sun damage is the source of most skin problems.
Drink plenty of water and take a multi-vitamin every day.
This has been my regimen for years and I am very happy with the results so far. Hope it works for you.

LOL...Well this is a double edged sword for you I guess...There are not "miracle" cures, however I use Murad products and I really like the products, but it is what it is w/o injections or the knife...let me know if you find something. BTW, I'm very proud of you!0

Try to sleep on your back whenever possible. I have one big wrinkle on the side of my face, under my eye socket - only on my right side. It is from sleeping with my face all bunched up on my right shoulder at night. Its been hard, but I'm trying to sleep on my back now, face up. Repetitive motion is responsible for most skin creasing. As far as firmness goes, I believe in good skin care and not being afraid to invest in it. The expensive brands have more research behind them, smaller molecules, and the ingredients are more concentrated.0

Hey girls...you will still want to look good in your sixties too....just sayin0

I had seen some talk about "face exercises" and had seen it discussed on either Oprah or the Doctors. Search for that and it is supposed to help.
I also use a skin care line/wrap system from It Works that made a difference for me, both on my face and on my stomach.0 -

I think you're beautiful, too-- and you're right--
Drooping comes with age. It's part of the package. Eat right, exercise, blah, blah, blah-- but, botox? God forbid. Those ladies look ridiculous-- can't even move their eyebrows.0 -
I don't know exactly what is going on with it, meaning if it is just skin elasticity or actual gravity issues with the entire musculature of your face. What all women should know is that plastic surgeons have discovered that one of the main reasons why people who get face lifts don't really look exactly youthful is because we also have facial bone deterioration. The bones in our face also decline and lose their edge lol.
If that is what is going on, there isn't much we can do currently :frown: . If it's just skin, there are many products out that can help firm it. One thing to try for sure is the Fraxel laser. A lot of the newer fractional lasers do excellent jobs. Fraxel would be hell of a lot better for what you are describing vs Botox. Botox is good for freezing an area and therefore preventing further wrinkles or animating them- Fraxel procedure would actually tighten your entire face.0 -

Moisturizer, moisturizer and more moisturizer. I just turned 50 and have no face wrinkles (didn't use enough on the neck haha) - and have used moisturizer since I was 14. I like clean makeup these days - and don't use the $80 stuff - but never miss a day. I also put extra virgin olive oil on my face before bed - I get a hot facecloth and put it on my face till it cools and then dry my face. When I wake up in the morning my face is smooth as well. This is a cheap alternative for cleaning and softening and not EATING the fat!0

Like the EVOO idea...never heard about the warm rag but makes sense...I'm going to try that one. Thanks for sharing!0 -

Interesting. But eating healthy fats is a GOOD thing! Helps with inflammation, heart health, keeps you full longer. Don't fear the fat!0 -

I like the way you think. Yeah, I've earned it too. Give that grandson an extra hug. I'm still trying to figure out who that old lady is that keeps looking back at me when I look in the mirror. What did she do with my reflection? :huh:0 -

I saw Christie Brinkley recently on the cover of a woman's magazine-- and I swear, her smile was so big and forced, with all the plastic surgery, she looked like The Joker-- the Jack Nicholson Joker from the earlier Batman movie. She looks horrible.
I'm with you, Red-- gray hair is the crown of the aged, so says scripture-- age the way God intends you to age. There is no shame in it. Live right. Eat right. Exercise. But, beyond that, don't sweat it.0 -

I know, right? :ohwell:0 -
My dermatologist suggested any product that contains Retinol. I use it maybe 1-2 times a week since I have sensitive skin and some rosacea. The rest of the time I use Cetaphil at night and when I am outside I will use the Aveeno Calming lotion (made for rosacea) for the SPF in it. I tried the EVO on my face, but it irritated the rosacea for some reason.0

If you lost the weight rapidly, don't panic just yet. It takes time for the skin to bounce back. Moisturizers and just keeping yourself hydrated do help.
But when I hit 44, all of a sudden, out of seemingly nowhere, I started to get jowls. And it really pissed me off, as I'd always been guessed to be at least 7 years younger than my actual age. Hrrmph. Now that I've lost 10 pounds, I'm not so jowly. But I still see that little sag on either side of my chin and you know what? I think it's here to stay. So I'm learning to live with it.0
