Yep, it takes time for the mind to catch up with the body. I lost a lot of weight in college some 25+ years ago (that long? wow!). I continued to wear sweats and baggy clothes to "cover up" because I still thought I was heavy. It took awhile & some encouragement from family & friends to make me realize that, hey, I can wear shorts or better clothes.
Congrats on your loss! :flowerforyou:0 -

Congrats on losing 4 stones, thats pretty impressive!
I'm the same, I've lost two stones and I don't see the difference. It's such a gradual process so it's hard to tell. Other people can tell which is my only way of knowing the difference. I think it's a mentality thing.
I tend to stay away from color and wear bigger size clothes to 'cover up' on some days even though I don't need to. Sometimes when I catch glimpses of myself in the reflection, I try to detached the fact that its my body and judge it as if it belonged to somebody else's. When that happens, I tend to realize that I'm not that big and can look okay. It must be a self esteem thing for me too.0 -

i've lost 7 kilos and i don't feel any different, even though my jeans that used to be way too small are now falling off me
but ihave to rely on other people telling me when i look different otherwise i lose all motivation because i don't see any difference.
from what i've seen everyone goes through this, whether it's 5 kilos or 50.0 -
Argh, I am the exact same. I have lost 3 stone one and 3 dress sizes. I know I have lost weight, but when I look at myself I actually feel bigger rather than smaller. I think its because I never used to pay attention nor care what I looked like and I see myself everyday, its hard to judge. Have a look at some old pictures, that always makes me see things a bit clearer.0

Also new clothes, I have mostly worn clothes that are baggy and too big, when I buy nice new tight clothes, I notice more.0
