I have great value (walmart brand) whole wheat rotini i was thinking of 1.5 cups of it i can have but when i put 1.5 cups it's saying like 2.5 cups "cooked" so how much am i actually consuming i plan to measure out 1.5 cups when it's cooked though.

If you cant find your exact number then you can always play with the amounts until its the right number, do quick calories OR you can create your own food and use that instead.
When I say play with the number I mean like when you put in 1.5 and it results in 2.5 then try putting in .75 or .80 and see if you can come up with 1.5 cooked since thats what you'll be eating.0 -
A serving of pasta is generally half a cup0

I had great value whole wheat spagetti today and on the box says 2 oz. which equals out to be 1 cup cooked, and it is a lot of pasta. And for me I have noticed that the whole wheat fills me up for a longer period of time. I know you have different type of pasta, but just thought I would throw that in
Good luck !

The most accurate way to measure pasta is dry, on a food scale, before you cook it. 2oz is the usual dry serving of pasta.0

2.5 cup dry = 2.5 cups cooked! That's too much 503 calories and 104 for carbs something like that.. but those are the only matching numbers i got for cooked vs uncooked??0

Read the package. Usually a serving is 2 oz, which will give you about 4 oz after cooking. All the nutritional values listed in the package are in relation to the DRY amount of pasta, which means BEFORE cooking.
.So one cup of DRY pasta (before cooking) will be enough for 4 or more people.0 -
Nutritional contents is per 1 cup. GRR i am just dumb or i really can't figure this out... i already cooked the pasta so how much should i have?0

No, usually, pasta is around 100 calories per ounce DRY. Once it's cooked, depending on the shape of the pasta and how long you cook it, it will double in size but the calories remain the same (it's only absorbing water).
So 2.5 C dry would be close to 5 cups cooked, but the calories are the same as the only thing that has changed is the amount of water in the pasta.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are a lot of incorrect pasta entries in the database as this question about measuring pasta comes up at least once a day on the forums.0 -

Here is the nutritional info for it: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Whole-Wheat-Rotini-13.25-oz/13399548
It is 210 calories per 2 oz (56 g) DRY. Each of those will be about 3/4 C when COOKED. So every 3/4 C Cooked is 210 calories.
Does that help?0 -
Oh ok well since it's 210 calories each 3/4 cup i marked it as 2 cups total since 2 cups is 420 calories... hopefully that takes care of this... lol confusing.0

This is what I would do.0
