I can't believe how fast this challenge is going! So many people are doing such a great job! I feel like I am on track with 23 pounds lost, but I also feel like it is getting harder to get good losses because I am in the last 15 pounds I need to lose. I look in the mirror and feel like half the person I used to be  I am so glad I joined this challenge. It is keeping me motivated and I feel like I will actually reach my goal by the end (or shortly thereafter.)
Stay motivated those of you who are having a rough time of it! Quitting never achieved anything!
And for those really big losers (you know who you are ) keep up the great work! I am amazed by the total pounds lost by this group! Just think how that effects all of our lives! Wow!0 -
I got three new dresses from Zappos.com that I am choosing between to wear to next weekend to A Grande Affair -- it's Med School Prom with alcohol.
I tried them on last night and they look awesome! Now I just have to choose!!
Post some pics & let us vote! :flowerforyou:

Okay I think I am finally ready to post. I had to gather my thoughts and try to come up with some goals this week. I have been doing terribly! And I am doing it consciously, full well knowing I am sabotaging myself. I'm up a little more this week from last week, but down a little from mid-week this past week. I had gotten back up to 192 and I was 190.8 this morning. I need to take control of my life and just do what I know needs to be done. I don't know how much longer I can whine and moan and groan about not losing as fast as I want or gaining or whatever! I am solely responsible for what goes in my mouth and if I decide to work out or not. Sometimes I act like food is not going to be around the next day and I feel (in that moment) like I have to have it because I won't have access to it later. I'm figuring out what my triggers are and it's probably best for me to not indulge in any sweets at all, specifically chocolate! Or only reward myself with something if I met a certain goal. So it is time I stand up and be accountable for my actions and stop making excuses!!
So my goals for this coming week:
Stay within 1400 NET calories
Stay within my carb/fat/protein goals
Get up and do my exercise before work in the morning (or else I might not get it done)
No sodas period, not even diet (this week)
94 oz water daily, even if I have to force it down
Exercise at least 3 times this week (more will be great)
That is a lot to ask of myself, but I can do it and I HAVE to do it if I want to see results. I'm tired of pu**yfooting around.
It is a lot to ask of yourself...but you are absolutely right...you can and you WILL do it! You have to truly believe that you deserve it! And I know you do...it is just up to you to believe the same.0 -

You are doing awesome and the LAST 15lbs... WOW I cannot wait to be where you are! Good for you! I am so proud0 -
Well first I just wanted to thank you all that are still here and seeing thing challenge through. I happened to be looking st my notebook of the original list we started with...and BOY did we lose a lot of people. This was to be expected to me, when I started out I didn't think I would have more than 20 people sign up...but we had like 6 times that! Which was great. However, for those of you still here...THANK YOU! It means a lot to me that you all are here and taking control of your situations, being honest and trying to learn from the wonderful group of ladies that we have. I only wish some of the people that did leave would have at least sent me an email or something (some did though, and I am grateful for that) but hey, what can you do right?! I just need to be here everyday to keep it going
As for my loss this week....I am happy with the two pounds. It is so weird to me, because I seem to bounce back and forth between the same two pounds for week and then drop 4 to 5lbs one week! Very weird and I need to look into that. I am 7lbs away from being under 200 and I swear it feels like it is taking WAY too long. Especially in my case where I am still looking to lose another 40lbs after hitting that mark. Yikes! But I try to not concentrate on the big number and be happy with the small losses that I have. This challenge has been so great in keeping me accountable. I knew when I started it that I would NEVER quit, because I had too many people depending on me being here every day and each week! So thank you all for keeping me accountable.
I am in my 5th week of TurboFire...can you believe it!?!! It is so crazy and so addicting, but I love every minute of it because I am getting stronger. I can do pushups! And more than one at a time! I was shocked the other day when I was cranking them out! LOL But it is exciting, and I am happy that I became a BeachBody Coach because I can truly endorse programs that WORK! And I am over 200lbs and doing it...anyone can do it! The coaching is going fairly well so far, I just try my best to get my story out there instead of just selling stuff to people. I just feel like that is counterproductive. I did do something crazy though...I posted my progress pics on a thread a few days ago, and I literally have over 100 new friends from then until now! Crazy....people asking me for advice and how I did it, just insane. So I feel like I am able to reach a lot more people now and put myself out there more with Coaching and just in general.
I am also doing this 30 Day Challenge by Chalene Johnson (TurboFire Creator) about mastering organization and obtaining goals...it is AMAZING! It has helped me really put all my goals on paper and make conscious efforts to doing little things each day that are going to help me achieve them. So that means, I will be starting on my book next week. I am just going to write a little here and there everyday and zone in on what I want to talk about in each chapter. It is going to be a motivational weight loss book. Hopefully with fingers crossed....I will be done within 12 months and then we will see what happens from there
On the job front, no luck yet...but hey, I am not going to sweat it. The right thing will come along and the more time I have off, the more time I have to get organized and see what I need to do in order to get into the RN program. I have been slacking on getting to the universities to get the info..but now I don't have an excuse.
I know I am rambling, but I feel like I haven't really been saying too much on the discussion threads and wanted you all to have an update. Best of luck to everyone this week. Let's rock these next 8 weeks out! We can see some big losses if we stick with it and make some good choices Love you guys0 -
Ugh typed a nice response and my computer went stupid and lost what I wrote
I am doing better, eatting more has helped me a lot. I highly recommend looking into your net calories if you are having issues. It has helped me so much this week. My goal is to focus on my net cals and to try to track my food better on the weekends. We are in the process of moving to our first home. We should be closing May 6th. My workouts will be fun to help me de-stress. So probably lots of zumba in my future for the next month0 -
LOL. Looks like everyone is kind of where I'm at with picking between the dresses.....I love them all!!
I'm gonna take some pictures of me in them today to see what looks best in pictures. I might keep two out of the three and wear one to a wedding tonight and the other to prom next weekend. I tell you...with this new body I need more occasions to wear cute dresses! I would NEVER have said that 40 lbs ago! :bigsmile:0 -

Ditto to all of the above. I'm so glad that everyone is sticking with it, no matter how big or small your loss has been so far! We will all get there...one day at a time!0 -
I had an off week. Dealing with a lot of stress at work and at home. I maintained! I'm happy that the snow is a lot gone and the weather is warming up.
You all rock!0 -
Krystle... That's awesome to hear all around! You are really getting things in order! I love it! :drinker:
ttv2004... Zuuumba! I don't go nearly as often as I'd like to (like 3 times a week would be amazing!). I hope you get lots and lots in!
ltlhmom... You deal with that stress! Don't let things pile you so that you can't handle them. You CAN handle them, and you maintained, and that's great!0 -
Hello Sunshines
So sorry it took me so long to show up with my goals for this week
I'm kind of busy and since this week will be nice and sunny in NJ
I better post tonight before it's Friday again.
My goals are:
I'm increasing the distance on the bike to 2 laps around the block (about 5/6mi) These are big blocks since I live in the country side.( For those familiar with the area, I live near Six Flags in Jackson NJ). Hopefully I will have time to go ride by the beach with my friend.
I'm also increasing my water intake. I've noticed that although I drink my 8 glasses of liquid/day I go sometimes 3/4 hours without drinking anything (I drink a lot, specially when I'm playing tennis). So I think I will go to 12 glasses.
Please note I don't drink ONLY water. I drink water, water with lemon, with some appple vinegar, with MIA etc My 3 cups of coffee in the morning are no included in my daily allowance of liquid
Since I will be playing some more tennis this week (I have to sub for a couple of girls on different days and weather is supposed to be nice to play with my friends outside) and I will be biking more, I don;t expect to lose to much but to gain some muscle mass, Let's see.
Also I'm 5'10"' and with 169lbs, I'm already at a healthy weight. I just want to weight around 155lbs because this is where I will be comfortable wearing size 6/8 ( yooo hooo - single digits)
Let me take this opportunity also to THANK all of YOU for your support and encouragement here or emails
All of you have been great and I do not mind at all talking about my age (I will turn 47 in June)
For those asking me what do I think my secret to success is I will say CONSISTENCY in NOT OVEREATING.
Since I started this I have not ate over 2200 even when I exercise or go to a party. I also do no eat below 1250.
I also chew my food way more then I ever did and eat at least 5 times a day. I guess this had done the job for me.
Anyways: Thank you all again
I will definitely stop by again Friday for sure
XOXO

I know I haven't posted the last couple of weeks. Insanity at work for the last couple of months. Hope to be back on track in one more week!!! Basically, I've not been able to exercise at all, so have just been trying to keep my calories down. I've managed to "basically" maintain, but, obviously, can't lose any more until I can move again. My weight is up a little from the last time I posted, but will just have to deal with that. You've all done so well!! It's encouraging to know that I CAN get the last 15-18 off when I am able to hit it hard again.0

This morning I decided to get out early, before doing anything else and conquer this Week 3 Day 1 of the Couch 2 5K. It started off so well, I was doing my brisk warm up when on a cross street, I saw a group of women running towards the park I knew would be right around the time of my first 3 minute run. Fear..I mean, straight up fear, gripped me. All these negative thoughts flooded, "Look at them, they're so fit, they're going to laugh at me. They are going to wonder why such a fat girl like me is even attempting to run." All the while, I'm getting more nervous. I thought about changing my usual route, despite how much I enjoy jogging around this little scenic park with a creek running through it. As I briskly walk along, my podcast chimes in to stay I should start my running interval and there they are, the three women I had seen earlier. I said, well, no turning back now and I decided to face them. As we move closer towards one another, I had to tell myself to breathe. And as we passed, they all cheerily chimed, GOOD MORNING! I smiled and said good morning back, searching their faces for some kind of judgment that I knew I was coming...And in less 2 seconds, the encounter ended. It was too quick to think about their judgments. It went too fast for me to even look in their faces. And then it hit me that they weren't thinking about me, they were thinking about their own run, just like I should have been thinking about mine. The three minute jog flew by and next thing I know, I was back in my brisk walk interval....Then an Eminem song begins to play in the podcast with this opening,
Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?
And as I ran along to the next interval, I started to cry. Because I was so proud of myself for this small thing that was so much. I didn't get psyched out. I woke up at 5 am worried that I wouldn't be able to job a whole three minutes. And then the added fear of encounter "real runners". But I didn't let my own insecurities drive me from my usual running route and I realized that I had captured an opportunity, just like the song....
Ladies, I have so incredibly far to go, way beyond this challenge to reach my goals, But this morning I felt victorious. As the tears fell, I just felt so fearless. I confronted a fear and anxiety and even as it was shaking me, I stood my mental ground with myself. Its all mental but I stood up for myself, for my right to not let my negative thoughts to overrun me and make me feel bad about who I am or what I was doing. And I don't know where i am even going with the blabbering on, but I had to come and share this experience with you all.....0 -

This is AWESOME! So glad you conquered that fear. Anytime anything else comes up, just remember that. And just look fear in the face and say "I've conquered you once, I will do it again!" You are a strong woman!0 -
Happy Monday!! I just got finished grocery shopping for the week and I have all my meals planned out, I am hoping this will help me to stay on track with the diet portion of this journey!! I am also re-starting my 5k training since i kind of screwed it up last week by killing my legs with squats!!! I literally could barely walk, so strength training this week will just be abs to be sure my legs are up to running LOL---so today I am doing 6w6p for the first time in almost a month!! geez its hard to believe that I have been slacking for sooooo long!!! But I really am going to try really hard this week to get back on track!! I feel so guilty!!! I have been bingeing a lot lately and I absolutely hate the way it makes me feel so here i am back at it for another attempt, I will definately not give up on this challenge, i mean i know im not going to be 40lbs lighter by the end but i definately want to be atleast 15lbs lighter!!!0

Alrighty ladies....where are we all at? Feelings, highs and lows from this past week, things we need to improve on for the coming week? I think at this point we should all know what has worked for us in the past weeks and what hasn't so with 57 more days (8 weeks) left, how are you going to kick it into overdrive?
I am up. The last 4 weeks have been a rollercoaster. I am steadily trying to find what works for me. One minute I think I found it, the next minute, I'm trying something new. I have really improved my eating and late night snacking. I hope that will help me to be more successful moving forward. I also thought that avoiding the tv would help me avoid eating since it seems like I always want to snack when I watch tv. Well I decided that instead of avoiding it altogether that maybe I can just snack on raw vegetables or fruit when I have the urge to eat something. Also, I have been trying to chew gum or drink flavored tea when sometimes I just want flavor in my mouth. I have been drinking more water to help curb my appetite and I think that is helping too.0 -
I posted this on both boards because I really wanted to get my point across...
I just wanted to point something out to everyone. I hope they are not offended that I am "calling them out" or putting them on the spot. But I just realised that the two ladies who have stayed at the top of our leader board almost the entire challenge are in their late to mid-40s. I am so proud of everyone, but these ladies have proven that you can lose at any age if you set your mind to it. Its really amazing they are at the age where metabolisms slow down, menopause may have started and they are still doin' the damn thing. So kuddos to you for not using any excuses like age to keep you from getting to your goal.
Leela! No I don't mind at all. I just wish I didn't wait till the age of 48 to make this life change. BUT!!!! They say it's never to late, Better Now then never :blushing:
I just wish all you young ladies out there see this!!!!! and PLEASE don't waste your beautiful 20's and 30's being unhappy with your weight. This MFP is a wonderful tool that I didn't have back when, USE it! Take advanatge of it! ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!
LUV YA & TAKE CARE of that beautiful body God gave you!
Congrats Teresa!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Keep up the good work!
And very good advice to the youngsters......:-)0 -

Krys,
1st of all I want to THANK YOU for organizing this wonderful challenge. :flowerforyou: I have met some wonderful ladies and it has been an awesome journey and we would not be here if it were not for your leadership. I have been in other challenges and the leaders have disappeared without a word. So I know how you feel when ones have dropped out on you without a word also.
I just hate I have not been able to participate every week like I wanted to because of my schedule.:grumble:
Congrats on your weight loss and you are so right about the job. Be patient with yourself. The right fit and job will come along. Sometimes just like with weight loss, it may take a few tries before the right job comes your way babe! So hang in there sweetie!! Your job is out there waiting on you to find it.
:flowerforyou: A big THANKS and SHOUT OUT also to the 2 wonderful ladies who organized those beautiful and motivating charts for us too!!:flowerforyou: Those are definitely by far the best charts I have seen so far on MFP!!
All 3 of you rock!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: We can't thank you enough! Keep up the good work!0 -

I am still stalled at 187 - zero loss in weeks. I know what the problem is: CARBS. Even when I stay within my calories and exercise, my carb intake is way too much. I also need to be more consistent with my workouts and better with portion control.
This has been by far the craziest two weeks in a long time. I am still wrapping up projects at my soon-to-be-former job along with taking on another marketing project and trying to handle an active 8 year old and his schedule on top of getting ready to move. It has been a lot to deal with and my first reaction is to put my needs at the end of the list and take care of everything else first.
I can't make any promises for this week aside from continuing to work on eating better and trying to fit in exercise -- but next week is the week that I really begin to focus on my health. I am going to view being unemployed as a gift of time that I can use to really get a routine down and to focus on myself.
In four weeks I have a "mini-challenge" that I created when I first started this group. In mid-May, I would pull out a box of clothes that have been stuck in my closet for awhile and toss whatever doesn't fit. Regardless of how cute or how sentimental - if it doesn't fit, it goes. I'm doing this because I am committed to living in the moment and to embracing who I am today, not who I was or who I'm trying to be. This might seem odd, but I have spent so long living on the motto of "I'll do that when I'm...." and not enjoying NOW. Plus, it means that when I do lose weight I'll have the fun of going shopping!

Rosie,
I love your carefree happy go lucky avatar picture! NEAT! I say it when you changed it and it takes me back for sure to a carefree time in my life. Have a good week and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Mollie
I'm an avid tennis player (not a good player, just addicted to the sport) and years ago I found this jpg somewhere in the web.
I saved on a hard drive and a couple of weeks ago I was checking them and found it again. I will go back and get another one saved
I think you will like too. Hopefully by Friday I will post new avatar pic.
Wish you too (and everybody else) a great week

Thanks Cassie!!! I made it to the gym today too!!! I think the hardest thing about getting back into routine is just actually getting up todo it....i mean once you start you are good to go, that was my biggest problem i was just too lazy to actually take time out of my day for it LOL Good luck getting back on track, you are doing amazing so far!!0 -
Good evening ladies! Well I'm sorry I haven't been on here a lot. I have been getting tons of emails from people wanting to know about BeachBody products and just general advice. Craziness...so I had to take a break from that, because the Snowflakes come first lol..
I hope everyone is doing well,,,I see that everyone seems to have a great, positive attitude this week and I'm so glad! That is what it Is all about. I have been not working out, and not logging...haven't been eating too much, because up until today, I was still battling that little stomach bug. But I will be waking up early tomorrow to get the workout in. So I'm expecting a gain this week..and I'm ok with it...because its not like I don't know why, right .
I love Turbofire so much, but I'm going to experiment and switch it up with the Shred from Thursday-Monday, but still doing the sculpt and tone DVDs and the Core DVD. So we will see if that changes anything. I am actually kind of excited about doing 30DS after doing TurboFire and I know I am a lot stronger.
So we will see what these next few days brings...Oh yeah, not sure if I said this but anyone who has Facebook...
I have an FB page now www.facebook.com/BrockinBodyFitness so feel free to stop by and "like" it.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! Keep up the amazing work!0
