i was just thinking about one of my favorite articles i've ever read in 'self' and wanted to share. this was an interview by rebecca romijin, and her insight and honesty were really refreshing:

“Romijn actually has no idea how much weight she gained - or has since lost. ‘I haven’t owned a scale in years,’ she says. Weighing herself was too ‘crazy-making,’ as she puts it. But Romijn does know that just every report on her weight was highly exaggerated. ‘During my period of relaxation, one of the tabloids said I went from 125 pounds to 145. Well, when I did my first Sports Illustrated cover [in 1999], which was my very thinnest, I weighed 140. So the numbers don’t mean anything.’"

and here is her swimsuit cover at 140 pounds - her thinnest ever:

she's totally my hero!

totally acceptable to drool. she is completely drool-able. i just love that she is showing what pure hotness looks like at a healthy weight and didn't claim that she was 105 pounds just because the media loves to push that kind of thing!

I second that!!! it goes to show that women dont have to be 100 pounds and thin to be attractive. None of us need to look to Hollywood for our ideal weights! I say ignore those antiquated BMI charts that do not take in account for muscle mass. According to the BMI charts, I need to weigh about 168 before I am no longer Obese..... screw that!

I agree..... I never have understood how people think 100-120 is "normal". If you have a very small frame or are 16 years old, then I can see this, but I look my best between 135-155, depending on how much muscle I gain with resistance training. I have a young, impressionable cousin who was telling me how great I looked in a certain bathing suit picture- both her and my grandma did not believe me when I told them I was 150-155 in that very picture. I think people get so caught up in numbers, rather than how they feel and look..... Even I am guilty of this sometimes. Great post to remind people it doesn't matter what the number is, as long as you are healthy and feel your best and happy. My goal since having my last baby, is to get in the best shape of my life for my 30th birthday..... But that doesn't have any number associated with it..... just a certain little dress:wink:

    Thanks for the great reminder!
