and it is usually best about 9a.m. But I am up at 7. Is it wise to eat brekkie first, or is it ok to eat it when I get back at 10? What do you all think? I was thinking if I ate before I went maybe I wouldn't burn as much stored fat. But, I was also thinking if I eat earlier, like 8 a.m., then my calories would be spreak out better over the day(food intake I mean)

I feel like I get a better workout if I have eaten before. I usually eat at around 6 with my son. I work out at 9. I feel like I have more energy if I have eaten. I get sick if I don't eat first!0

I always workout before I have my first meal (I work a 2nd shift job, so my schedule is a little weird and my first meal is usually lunch). When I used to get up early and go to the gym, I'd usually feel sick when I worked out on an empty stomach too. So I would have either Slimfast or a Carnation Instant Breakfast before hand to have something simple in my stomach. However if there is food in your stomach when you work out, it will be just sitting there like a lump because your stomach needs a good supply of blood to digest, and your blood will be going to the muscles to keep them oxygenated while you exercise. Also, (according to the paperwork that came with my workout DVD set) getting some exercise before you eat in the morning will help train your body to burn fat better (I'm paraphrasing from memory, since I don't have the booklet in front of me at the moment)0

Don't quote me but I've heard you're supposed to eat within an hour of waking up. If you're waking up at 7, then it's not good for your metabolism to be waiting until 10. You want to get it started early.
However, you should also eat something high in carbs within an hour after working out so you replenish your body and it will burn it really fast. If I could find the article I could explain it better, but this is usually what I try to stick to.
So what you can do is have some fruit and nuts before you workout and then have oatmeal or high grain cereal afterward. My friend said his post workout "snack" is a peanut butter sandwich. Whatever works for you.0 -
Thank you everyone!!! I think what I will try in the a.m. is something light when I wake up, like a little fruit, cereal or piece of toast.. The just eat another meal after about 10 a.m. Also, I like the idea of maybe 8 oz of a protein type drink. I have a blender and could mix up some fruit w/protein powder maybe. I think all answers were good but now to just be sure I don't have a full meal before I exercise I think.
Thank you all again, denise in Sams Valley Oregon0
