Stay away from the pills.
Do it healthily.
Pills are a short-term fix0 -
REALLY?0

Sorry but there is nothing that will work other than hard work. You just gotta eat right and exercise. maybe you should change your goal to something more realistic. It took me a while to finally comprehend that this is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix. It sucks. Whenever i get annoyed and just want the weight to come off NOW i just tell myself..that if it were easy then everyone would be skinny.0

I don't believe in taking those "weight loss" pills because it puts your metabolism out of whack and you end up gaining back the weight when you quit taking them. I think supplements such as Omega 3 are more beneficial because they are GOOD for your body and actually helps aid in weight loss. Good luck!0

I used hydroxycut, and that seemed to help me, and I've noticed that my weight loss has slowed down some since I stopped using it. You are supposed to take 2 pills before every meal, but I was taking 1 before only breakfast and lunch, taking two made me feel jittery (taking only 1 instead of 2 made it last a lot longer too!) It made me feel fuller on less food, and gave me a smidge more energy.0

Pills won't get you anywhere. You may lose weight, but you WILL gain it back. Good old eating right and exercise are your best answers!0 -
Pills will destroy your metabolism. Not worth it at all. Don't sacrifice your long-term health for a short-term goal.0

There is no quick fix to weight loss in my opinion.0

ive tried ALLI it really works, do some research on it 1st..its FDA approved but i recently heard in the news that it may be put out the market..but not to sure...as long as you eat right and exercise u should be good to go. I tried it for a while, exercised but didnt eat to healthy, didnt lose weight or gained any, so it help me stay at a decent weight. no i am sure if i would have exercise and ate healthy i would have lost a good amount of weight..godd luck!!0

MFP probably isn't the right place to ask about using pill to lose weight. Weight loss is a marathon not a sprint.0
-
but like other have said...you will gain the weight back if you are not careful..so use it wisely and continue eating healthey and exercising!0

The only thing that works is hard work! And having unrealistic weight loss goals will only end in dissapointment.0

I am using HCG and lost 27 lbs in 33 days. Currently in phase 3. This is the only thing that has worked for me and i deal with hypothyroidism. I can and will suggest this to anyone looking to lose weight, it's safe and no side effects...atleast i didn't have any.0

Sorry, wrong website.
We're obsessed with health and fitness around here, not drugs and self-abuse.0 -
Why there is no safe weight loss pill: http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/04/15/diet.drugs.fail/index.html?iref=allsearch0

If you are excercising (high intensity aka SWEATING your butt off) and eating clean you will lose it (MAYBE not by JULY tho) . To speed things up just a tiny bit add a fat - burner . I take Lipo Black for hers....it definitely helps!0
-
To lose 40 by July? Only drink water. BAM weight loss and a good chance of death.0
-
Don't do the pills... for one thing they ARE short term, and they only do what you're supposed to be doing anyway. None are approved by the FDA except one. That's Alli. The only thing it does is keeps your body from absorbing fat. HOWEVER: it says that you have to eat a balanced meal and everything with it, which is what you're supposed to be doing anyway! You don't need to waste $50 a bottle to take a pill to tell you this. Really the only way to go is diet and exercise. It sucks, but it's true You got this!0

Thanks everyone but what about water weight pills or green tea pills ?0

Stop looking for quick fixes especially on this site. We are all commited to doing the work no short cuts Lady Just do the work and you will be so proud of yourself that you did. Took me forever to come to this mind set. Wasted days Wasted nights.

I would stay clear of pills. I don't know how good they are for you. I have never personally tried weight loss pills but I think the best way to lose weight is take things one day at a time. I know you probably had your heart set on losing 40 lbs by July....but you want to lose weight the smart way. You will probably get very close (without) the pills. Just stick to a strict diet regimine, drink plenty of water and get your exercise in. That's your best bet...trust me the weight will start melting away.0

took me a loonngg time to finally bite the bullet on that one.0 -
If you HONESTLY want to take diet pills, try Oxy Elite. You can get it from GNC. Only take it for 90 days. My trainer has me taking them and I am almost through with the bottle. They are completely safe and approved. I have been on a mission since that last week of February 2011 and have lost 20 pounds. I have 10 more to drop by June. The pills have no side effect and are completely natural. Hydroxycut and others as such are very bad and unhealthy...0

Hey there,
There is a multi-billion dollar industry devoted to "quick fix" or "gimmick" weight loss pills, plans, programs and the like.
The problem is, Not one single person gets unhealthy overnight. It comes from days, weeks, months and years of making poor (unhealthy) choices and living an inactive lifestyle.
By the same token, no one becomes immediately fit overnight either.
It takes a long-term personal commitment to making changes in the long-term to make those choices in the days ahead to meet your goals one step at a time.
You're on the right track simply being here, and you'll find plenty of support to keep you motivated day after day.
The best "Magic Pill" is called "Personal Dedication, Commitment and Perseverance"
Cheers!0 -
i take hydroxy cut max. i feel fine on it, as long as a drink water and eat my 1200 cals. i dont feel any different than i did when i wasn't on them. and i do believe they give me ALOT more energy to work out so hard.0

Pills are bad for many reasons... see the linked article on CNN.
There is no silver bullet except for hard work... everything else can seriously hurt you especially if used improperly.
Please remember you are talking about your health, not an old pair of shoes that can just be thrown away.0 -
I take Alli with every meal. I also work out 6 days a week and eat about a 1200 calorie diet. Alli just blocks 25% of the fat you eat but you have to eat healthy otherwise you will get stomach aches and other side effects because it can't deal with a lot of fatty foods. It is supposed to give you an extra pound lost for every 2 you lose on your own. Not sure if it works but I have been doing it for 2 months and I know what I can and can't eat. This is an FDA approved diet aid and it is the only one I would take:-) Good Luck!!!0
