Lose 40lbs now by middle of July

Would it be unhealthy to aim for a goal loss of 40lbs lost by middle of July? Yes I know that is more than an average weight loss should be, but I am thinking that since I am larger that the first 20 or so will come off quicker than the rest. We are going to see my husbands family, and if I could be at 250 then I would be so happy. I plan on achieving this through exercise and healthy eating, no gimmicks or anything like that. Honest opinions please? If you feel this goal isn't healthy what would be a healthy weight loss to achieve by then?

I understand that desire completely, but it seems like an unrealistic goal and unhealthy goal. Just keep working at your weight and do what makes you feel good until then. His family won't care about the number, they can only see how you look and if you focus on that number and don't make it you won't look as happy as you could if you focus on feeling good0

If the 40 includes the 10 you've alreay lost I think it's do-able. I lost 34 lbs in 3.5 months.0

I haven't been on too long, but I wouldn't want to lose more that 2 a week, that way its manageable and not so hard to stick to. You might also end up losing more than that as a bonus but 2 lbs a week us a good steady goal
Good luck!0 -
I think it is possable as long as you really watch what you eat and cut all pop out with lots of exercise if you want to try it I will try wityh you just friend me0

It maybe doable but it may also be a reach. 30lbs in about 3 months, I think you can do it but make sure you are following the guidelines and eating healthy and exercising normally (no binging on that or not eating... you know the typical things you shouldn't do) and I think you will do very well
Always, first and foremost, keep in mind how your body is feeling and what it needs before what you want it to be.... this way you do this the healthy way vs something quick that wont stick (i think that rhymes!)

I've lost 44 in 2 1/2 months, so it's possible. When you're swinging the scale around in the range you and I are, it comes off pretty quick at first, but you've got to keep to the same regimine to maintain average weight loss after the initial shock loss. Most wouldn't recommend it, but in 3 months, I can tell you from personal experience it can be done.
Primarily I'd recommend that you focus on your own health and your long term goals without putting too much emphasis on a certain number or date; it can make you crazy.0
