Simply stated... is tuna fish safe to eat considering the unfortunate incident in Japan and the effect it may / may not be having on the waters? I absolutely love tuna and really want it! :)

Have a great day everyone!!!

I work in the radiochemistry industry and so far I have heard nothing to indicate that tuna is unsafe to eat. :-)

Are you talking tinned or fresh tuna ?

Most tinned tuna will be pre-events there should be a batch date on the tin that says when it was produced.

For fresh tuna ask your fishmonger where it was caught.

I was thinking tinned or the packets they sell now in foil. I never even thought to look for the production / packaging date. Thank you ~ this helps a lot!
