New to MFP - formerly used competing system

I have decided to count calories to lose the 10 pounds I gained since December 2010 after losing 30 with another system, and MFP seems to be a great option.

I was very successful in reaching and maintaining my weight loss goals (maintained for about 10 months) in the other system which counts points. I started gaining over the holidays and attempted to get back on track and started counting points again. But the weight loss system made some major changes and it did not seem to work as well for me (for instance - you can eat as many fruits as you want - and I think I overindulged or just didn't count as carefully since I wasn't as familiar).

So this is day one, and I want to lose about 1 pound a week to get down 10 pounds and am excited to see if this will work for me to reach my goal - and then longer term as needed to keep my goal weight.

I've enjoyed reading some of the postings and looking forward to the journey along with this MFP community.
