Hi, I'm on the Ideal Protein Diet. I struggle to call it a diet, as it is truly a life change. It changes the way you think about food! I have been on many diets (Herbal Magic, WW, TBM) and I know they all say that - but this one is truly your last diet. I have lost 40lbs in 16 weeks. I feel better than I ever have, and I am loving every minute of it! I am on my second week of Phase 3. Anyone else here on this diet? I was a bit suprised not to find an Ideal Protein group!

    Hi there,

Today is my first day on this diet as well. I can't say too much since I haven't been on it for very long but so far I like their products. I have just tried the Maple Oatmeal and their Cream of Chicken Soup. My snack tonight will be the Milk Chocolate Pudding. Mmmmm  I thought I would have a hard time drinking 10 glasses of water but it is only 3 pm and I have 4 glasses left  I am so hoping to lose the weight. I was or still am a bit nervous since I have been told that if you lose the weight fast then you are more likely to gain it all back. I am hoping that this will not be the case.

Thank you so much for posting on here.

Stick with it!! You will love it. If you have any questions at all - please ask!! I am in maintenance, but by no means an expert lol. But I will try and help anyway I can, I know this diet can be very confusing in the beginning!

Thank you!!! No questions yet. Got the headaches that they have warned me about but they go away when it is time for my next meal. And when I go to bed. I am following what they told me to eat. I did however put 1 tbs of Kraft Italian Dressing Calorie Wise in my salad. Not too sure if I should have but I wanted to try anyways. I am also finding out that I am not to keen on their puddings. lol

It's a hard diet to google, finally found something to see that this diet only exists in the GTA. None of you had your location so I assume you are in it.

The office is in Mississauga so I won't be going, too far away. Too bad they don't just make a meal plan and put it online of what protein to eat and what sugars to avoid but of course, free tips won't help them, lol

I have been on phase 4 - (maintenace) of Ideal Protein for 5 weeks. I love it! I have lost 60 lbs in since Oct 2010 and I feel great! I have changed my eating habits and exercise habits, and yet it was easy. I have been on many diets too and this has been the only diet that has been successful for me and has taught me how to eat! I believe that you are not wasting time being on this diet and you will truly be happy!

I found that too - I am a major googler (is that even a word? lol) I have to research things to death before I try them. I found a great community of people, recipes, LOADS of information on the diet on this site:

I have started the Ideal Protein Diet-and Wednesday will mark my first week. I am excited to hear what others have done with this diet, as well as get some great recipes and ideas.

Thus far-I feel great. I have not noticed being tired-but have had a few headaches, which may be from the lack of Diet Coke!

I am looking forward to week 3 when I will go back to exercising--to really make this plan work for me!

Just saw an a-frame board beside a Shoppers Drug Mart near me in Ontario the other day. Info session tonight May 5th at 7:00 pm BUT I don't think I'll be home from work on time.

Quick q for you guys, what is the cost to join this program including food/products required?? Approximate is fine by me.

I figure if its $250 like Weight Watchers or $350 a month for Nutrisystem and I only have 10 lbs or maybe 15 I would like to lose it wouldn’t be worth the investment.

    Thank you!

Did you check it out??? I am hoping you did. Let us know

I had my first weigh in. I lost 10 lbs and 3" off my belly. Wooo hooo. 6 more weeks and I will be 130 lbs. I so can't wait.
  • I have been on Ideal Protein Plan for 6 weeks now and have lost 18 lbs, but this week didn't lose anything. Has anyone on this plan hit a plateau? and for how long?
  • Zita_Jenn

I haven't hit a plateau yet.. but my mother in law told me, if I do, switch things up a bit. For ex. have my supper in the am and my breakfast for supper. That should help. Good luck.

I am finishing up day 3 of the ideal protein diet. So far so good. Just wanted to get on here to meet others that are doing it too. Just looking for support, encouragement, and helpful advice and tips. I'm worried about getting sick of all the vegetables so if anyone has any good phase 1 recipes send them my way. Good luck to everyone! I feel good about this diet and look forwardto living a healthier, thinner life.

I'm on my 1st week off the program which, I guess, means my 3rd week on Phase 4. Ideal Protein is a medically-supervised, high protein/minimal carb & fat program. If you search for Ideal Protein on youtube, there is an approx 8 minute video on how it works. The program guarantees an average of 3 to 7 lbs of weight loss PER WEEK. I will tell you, it's what worked for me FINALLY. I lost just over 46 lbs in 5 months and have no doubt that I will keep it off for the rest of my life. A co-worker has lost over 100 and is off all of his diabetes and blood pressure meds, my doc who administered the plan lost over 100, my mother has lost 35+. I don't care that others will say "it's a fad diet" or "you can lose weight if you just eat right". You've heard it all too. I tried so many things. THIS worked! And for those of you who don't like to exercise--this is the program for you! Ideal Protein does not allow for exercise in order to protect the muscle mass you currently have. There is a protocol available for those who already exercise and don't want to give it up but I can tell you from experience, it's a little tougher when you're exercising. Weight loss is a little slower and your energy level isn't quite the same for the first several weeks. I will recommend this program until my last day on this earth. And just for fun (because I did this to GET HEALTHY), I went from size 18 to size 10 pants/skirt, XXL to L shirt, lost well over 30" (I haven't done my final measurements) and I now weight LESS than what my driver's license says for the first time ever--and I'm 54 years old. Please look in to this program!

Hey, alauer5! Roasted cauliflower saved me! Cut up a head of cauliflower, toss lightly with olive oil from your daily allowance of oil, sea salt and spices (I like chili spices like cumin, chili powder, and cayenne) and roast at 400 degrees until it starts to carmelize. It's fantastic right out of the oven or cold. Also, I liked to add sauteed mushrooms to the soups, chili, and spaghetti. Cayenne was my favorite spice. I used it in just about everything. That's what was great about the program. You can add spices and seasonings to jazz your meal up. I liked adding cinnamon to oatmeal, chocolate pudding, and the crepes too. And make the crepes really thin in a small saute pan so you get 3 or 4 thin ones (like crepes should be) instead of just 1 thick one. Try the Walden Farms salad dressings. I liked the Raspberry & Asian the best. I'm a big fan of red bell peppers and cucumbers for my veggies now, too. Good luck! I promise it will pay off!
