Where did you go that ended up being your best ever vacation and why? I'd LOVE to travel this year, or early next, and am looking for fun ideas and places. :O)

Dubai! I was visiting some friends and it was just such a great place to relax and play! Their malls are insane and they have these incredible 5 star spas in hotels. It's just really luxurious! I can't recommend it enough!0

Torn between
- Greece: a day or 2 in Athens is all you need...then onto Santorini and Rhodes. Would love to go back and visit some of the other islands.
- And Hawaii!! Can't wait to get back to Kauai.
On my bucket list still are Australia and New Zealand.0 -
Italy - two weeks up one coast and down the other and around both ends. It was a freakin' blast!!0

Edinburgh, Scotland, or maybe Prague, Czech Republic. In the US, when I traveled up highway 1 in Cali with my sis. We started in San Diego, then up to Monterey, then into San Fran, then over to Yosemite.0

Orlando. We did Disney and Universal Studios, which we both ok, but my favorite was Sea World and Discovery Cover where we swam with dolphins and snorkled. I love animals and that was a great time. When I get the weight off I am taking the family to Atlantis and we will swim with the dolphins again.0

My best vacation so far was a trip to Puerto Vallarta with my best friend. We stayed in a small Mexican hotel in old town, ate street food and walking all over the place. It was awesome.0

Iceland! We're going back for our 3rd trip this fall. Glaciers, geysers, volcanoes, nice people, yummy food. Lots of good hiking. It's our favorite place on Earth. And, there's good travel deals out there! It's only 4.5 hours from the US.0

Cancun in 2007 and 2009. Stayed at Riu las palace de america (something like that). Beautiful hotel, beach and delicious food. I visited Excaret. Paradise on earth. My 7 yr old wants to go back. Can't decide if I want to go back there or visit Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico or another hot spot.:happy:0

When I was 17 I went the bus station and asked where I could go for 30$. I ended up in Baltimore, then hitch hiked back to knoxville. It was an adventure. I got rides on motorcycles, big rigs, police cars, and horses. Scary at times, should have taken money for food.... but it was great.0

Hawaii in '07 & '08.
The Big Island is the place to see the power of this planet by watching to lava flow & make the Big Island even bigger. Where all but two of the world’s climate zones generate everything from lush rain forests to volcanic deserts, snow-capped mountaintops to beautiful black sand beaches.
There are other islands to explore:
Kauai - From the soaring cliffs to the vast chasms, Kauai embraces the senses like no other destination.
Oahu - timeless beauty that blends with the modern luxuries of today.
Molokai - Serene seascapes, unspoiled coastlines, untamed wilderness. This is an island that stays true to its Hawaiian traditions, tucked away from the hustle of the outside world.
Lanai - Relax and rejuvenate in a place that has earned the name, “Hawaii’s Most Enticing Island.”
Maui - From its heavenly beaches to its scenic natural wonders, there are plenty of reasons why it has been voted “Best Island”
But I will always be drawn to the Big Island & hope to move there when my husband retires.0 -
Myrtle Beach a few years ago. We had a really good time, and our daughters had a blast. Watching my daughters play and have fun together was the best thing ever!!!!0

So hard to narrow it down to one. Loved Puerto Vallarta last year. Been to Mexico 4 times. Been fabulous every time.
In the 90's. Used to love the driving vacations we used to go on when all the girls were home. Disneyland on a budget.
1992. Honeymoon in Victoria B.C.
Went to Italy in 1977. That was fun. Single. Went with two girls. Staying in Hostels. Partying on a budget.0 -
Barbados! What a beautiful place, great jewelry shopping! AND the parting.....well......nough said.0

Haven't had a memorable one but soon to Peru or Japan.0

SINGAPORE!!!!
It is amazing there!! I would go back in a heartbeat!0 -
I toured Europe with a musical performing group in college. Four weeks of non-stop performances and sight-seeing, it was amazing.0

Argentina!!! My ex, who is still one of my besties lives there again, now and I'd LOVE to go back. It is so beautiful and natural there. Real dairy farms, real butchers and bakeries and the people are wonderful. Even with a language barrier they were so sweet and really wanted to find a way to communicate.
Also doesn't hurt that our $1 turns to $3 of theirs!0 -
Rafting through the Grand Canyon. Or Belize.0

I spent 10 days in Washington State - half of the time we went hiking in Mount Rainier National Park and the other half was spend exploring the San Juan Islands just off the coast - it was an amazing trip!! Whale watching from the beach, boat trips through the islands, lavender and alpaca farms, friendly locals, fabulous cuisine (The Duck Soup Inn on San Juan Island is a must!!), romantic atmosphere - fun, relaxation and adventure all mixed into one!
Otherwise, I lived in Switzerland for a year on an exchange program back in high school and it was just glorious! All the major cities and the not so major towns are filled with culture and history and the story book backdrop to everything is just breathtaking! There's a little of everything condensed into this small, easy to travel around country - great museums and bustling city life to quaint little towns from another era, plus so many natural wonders - glaciers, lakes, mountains!! I loved every minute and hated to leave!0 -
I was in the navy for eleven years and I saw 25 percent of the world, it is tough to say what my favorite place was but I can tell ya I enjoyed Rio a ton and Lima I also loved Cyprus and Turkey. SO I dont have a favorite, Even France was great. Srry cant help ya wish I could I tried. SMILES0

I would have to say Las Vegas. I had the most fun I've had in my whole life, there. Hopefully, my career will take me to more distant lands!0

I went to Italy for two weeks in the summer of '03 (the year I graduated high school) to play basketball with 40 people I had never met. We got to tour Rome. We got to swim in the Mediterranean Sea!! We also got to travel more inland to Pescasseroli and see some BEAUTIFUL countryside. We played ball daily against the locals and got to go to a basketball camp that had kids of all ages...from like 5-17. They thought we (Americans) were celebrities. It was awesome. We got to stay in several different places, including some hotels and some bungalows. We got to eat yummy Italian food!! It was great!
Also, my honeymoon to a Sandals resort in the Bahamas - Sept '07. My husband and I pretty much just sat on the beach and ate and drank for an entire week. It was beautiful and relaxing. A wonderful way to start of my marriage.0 -
US & British Virgin Islands: Started out in the BVI by chartering a 38 foot sailboat and spent the next 8 days island hoping and sleeping on the boat. Then went to USVI where we spent 8 days at the Marriott on St Thomas, and took a day trip over to St John. In total: 8 islands in 16 days. Incredible!0

Lake tahoe, on the nevada side. I was so beautiful. we were there late april/early may and it snowed during our trip. We fished, hiked, saw an old mine town and got to go to casinos! It was a great trip. This summer we are going to a family adventure camp near Santa Fe, and I have a feeling that will be my new favorite place!0

WE go to the Tenn. mountains every fall to see the leaves change, cause down here in Florida we don't get the change of season that is so beautiful!!!! Every year I ask my husband would he like to try something different, but between going to Myrtle Beach in the Summer and Tenn. in the fall, we're in Heaven. Out of the two, the Smokey Mountains is my favorite.0
