Okay, so I have been on a 3-day food binge. Somebody please smack me so I can snap out of it!! I guess I need to smack myself! I have been with mfp for 2 months and been doing well (until now). I have lost 13 pounds in those 2 months, been working out hard (Insanity, running), and had great willpower for once. All of a sudden I have lost my willpower and am wanting to eat everything in sight. I am so irritated with myself. I was way over my calorie limit for 2 or the last 3 days. Ugh. Ugh. So I am trying to make myself snap out of it and begin anew starting right now. Anyone else have/had this problem? Any advice/*kitten* kicking appreciated!!

all i could find was a punch.
The only advice I can give is get back on the horse.Stressing over it will just help it continue.Slip ups happen to everyone0 -
Don't be hard on yourself, just start fresh tomorrow. You have the formula for success here and it is waiting anytime.0

2 weeks ago... it got me feeling so down on myself.
You just have to get back on track. Tomorrow is a new day.
There will be times like this. Just don't let it defeat you0 -
*smack* Snap out of it!0

Why are you so afraid of succeeding? Let go of what has been and start now doing what you know you need to do...
Only you can make it happen!0 -
ive binged too, but tomorrow im getting back with it! snap out of it! do you want to gain back that weight you worked so hard to lose? take a deep breath, and look objectively at what you've been eating. does that look like a way you want to live? no? then cut it out!
tomorrow is a new day! start it with a completely new outlook! you cant be perfect, so put it behind you and move on.

Somebody slap ME!!! lol!0

SMACK!! You can do this! You just fell off and obviously you don't like it. So please get back on track tomorrow. Your doing great. No time like the present.0

So, you had some indulgences...you can't change that. This happens to everyone. The most important thing is what you do next. T
Are you going to give up on a healthier lifestyle because it is too hard, or get back up on the horse? Think of where you want to be in two months. Gaining the weight back? Or losing more? If you go into tomorrow with an attitude of confidence, you'll be OK.0 -
That ewok is frightening.0

I felt a weekend like that coming on but it turned out to be just friday because I felt so physically gross after stuffing myself. Everybody falls off the wagon, just find your resolve and get back on!!0

3 days of bing won't make you big ,it takes long time to become fat.Same with loosing it! Just be good again, starting tomorrow!Start with healthy breakfast.0
-
Just start over fresh tomorrow! You won't gain those 13 pounds back over a few days worth of slacking, even if you gain a pound or two back, you're still way ahead of where you were when you started. Mustering the willpower is hard work, but it's necessary, and you also know you have it in you, because you've done it before! Just remind yourself about all the hard work you put in these past two months, and think how much worse you'll feel if you DO give up and gain back those 13 pounds!0

GUILT! Never let guilt get you down. It has no purpose. Guilt will only discourage you. My advice if a person gets off track is to let the past go and focus on doing better going forward. Forgive yourself the slight eating binge, you will/can do better.0

SMACK! I agree the Ewok is scary!0

When I put my I pad on it helps me to drown out my tough inner critic. I need to keep that old negative fart at bay because a new me without him is so much happier. I drown myself in my food and feel so horrible when I do. But when I eat right I feel so good and I have more mental and physical energy. I am trying really hard right now and am doing so good. BUT I know I will overeat again (probably many times "hope not"). BUT I hope we can all do better more than we do bad. That means we are mostly feeling and looking pretty darn good. If we never did bad I guess we would never feel so good when we did good.0

Thanks for all the advice and *kitten* kicking! lol I really needed the "punch" and "smack", and Phil - not sure WHAT that is, but it is definitely motivating! ha!ha! Funny! I feel a little better (although bloated) lol. I am starting fresh RIGHT NOW before I gain anymore weight back. Thanks again!
By the way, I love mfp. The support is fantastic. I feel better already!0 -
I was over the first 304 days of the week, but now at the end of the week I am 260 under. It's not a big deal. If you're over, you can burn it off throughout the week.0

I will smack you after I get up off the floor from smacking myself. Tomorrow I am beginning again. I have seen way too many red numbers on my food journal lately and I've lost some momentum for working out. But I refuse to give it all up. I can't just throw it ALL away. There is a thin, fit, healthy woman inside me counting on me to let her out. I can't disappoint her now after getting her hopes up so high. Tomorrow, Carpe Diem!!0

SMACK SMACK SMACK!!! topped off with a ***** slap! STOP and MOVE AWAY FROM the JUNK FOOD!... THROW IT ALL AWAY AND GET IT OUT OF YOUR HOME.
That said.... Don't look back. Refocus on the new you, you are striving to become.
This is a long and difficult journey and this kind of lifestyle change doesn't happen overnight or in a month or a few months. You can do this if you refocus, pull yourself together and start over. Focus on the new you a year down the line while taking it hour by hour, meal by meal, day by day. Log every day and don't cheat. Even on bad days, log everything.
YOU CAN DO THIS!0 -
This happens to me at times as well but sometimes you must treat yourself...and leave it at that. It was a treat and now continue with what works. It is coming slow for me and now my scale is broke...might be a good thing ;-) but pizza is my fav so from time to time I work that into what I eat once durning the week....this means not going wild with it but having two slices and salad. Preparing for this craving instead of letting it take over and throw in the towel, well this has made a huge difference in how I feel about eating better and getting better for myself and a better life. Don't beat yourself up over this....you have lost and can continue to do this for YOU starting NOW! YOU CAN DO THIS!! Hugs0

Forget about the last few days. Go to the grocery store tomorrow, stock up on healthy food and get back on it.
I started in January with a goal to lose one pound a week. For the first couple of month, I lost almost nothing, even if I was following the program and was working out with a personal trainer 4 times a week. However, I kept on doing it, knowing that it was impossible to make all these changes and not to see results.
Well, finally, I have started to lose. I lose one or two pounds a week, and am now down 17 pounds. YOU CANNOT let go of all the progress you did in the last few months. You worked too hard. Come on, get back on track. YOU CAN DO IT. You can add me as a friend if you want.
As Toygrrl said, IT'S TIME TO REFOCUS ! You deserve to do this.0 -
Time to get the big girl pants on. You can blame it on weakness, or you can talk to yourself like the grown up you are and know that you can do better. Not tomorrow. Now. But not beating yourself up for what you did, think about the future and positive things. What can you do NEXT to make this BETTER? What can you eat BETTER tomorrow (see it's not about failure, it's about success). Build on each success and keep going forward.
This is all you and changes about you. So you aren't letting anyone down. So who's there to feel guilty about? You haven't hurt anyone. In fact, you are changing yourself chunk by chunk for the better. You know you can do better. You have done better, you owned it, caught yourself, now you are ready to go forward.
2 steps forward and one backward is still mostly forward. It's just a fine tuning situation. Get your internal voice to start talking to yourself in encouraging ways. Would you verbally beat up your child? Or would you encourage her? Be kinder to yourself. Be satisfied that you did what you could. Move forward.
What I'd do is fill myself as much as possible with high fiber fruit and vegetables for a few days until I got the calories under, but felt very full. Then you'll be right back at it! There is no limit to how many times you get to keep trying. You only have failed if you quit trying.0 -
*Smacks you in the face* Snap out of it;) YOU can do this!!!!0

And, what Nammy said:)0

*SLAP!!*
Feel better? Probably not. So, *hug* and *pat on back.* Better now? Okay, now what triggered this binge? Is it just a moment of losing control and backsliding - it happens. Get back on the horse - you can do it. Give yourself credit for all your hardwork and let that motivate you to keep going.
Is it a symptom of demanding too much too fast of yourself or perhaps not eating enough? Then adjust your expectations to a more sustainable pace so that you can go on. Killing yourself to be healthy makes no sense at all. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Either way, forgive yourself. It's Easter, a good day for being forgiven and beginning anew.0
