Fats & Sugars

Please consider making distinctions between the good fats and good sugars - rather than place them all together. Fats from fish and peanuts are GOOD fats. Sugars from fruits are GOOD sugars. But, you link them all together.

The body has no way of discerning whether the sugar it's receiving is from an apple or a candy bar. Glucose is glucose, fructose is fructose, sucrose is sucrose, regardless of whether it's from a source labeled "GOOD" in the OP or not.

  • The request was merely to made to point out and help people know what fats and sugars are good for the body, so that they would eat more of the foods with the good fats and sugars. The body may not have a way of discerning what kind of fat or sugar it is receiving. But, the body certainly will reveal what kind it has received.

Only if your body has difficulty processing sugar (diabetic, hypoglycemic, etc) or if you're consuming an excess of calories. http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/

Not if you don't have a medical condition.

Well you should avoid eating saturated fats in excess if you don't want clogged arteries, so you don't contribute to developing a medical condition. Also should avoid transfat. Unsaturated fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated) in moderation can help reduce the risk of clogged arteries. Omega 3's are also good for you. So, there is such a thing as good fat and bad fat....
