    HRM = Heart Rate Monitor

    Everybody will burn calories at a different pace, depending on their Height, Weight, Age, Sex & Heart Rate. Having a personal HRM will give you a clear answer to what YOU burned doing those activites. Not what someone else burned.

    Do an search for HRM's and find one that is right for you. I know that the Polar FT4 & FT7 are both very popular models here on MFP. I personally have the FT4 and love it.

    I had the same experience with an HRM. It would say I burned 1200 cal doing Insanity, but I never lost a pound. Got a Bodybugg and found out I was burning half that!!!! No more HRM's for me and I don't recommend them to my clients as a way to track calorie burn. Great for Zone training, but if you want to find out the calories of a WO spring for the BB. It's about the same price as a good HRM now, anyway.

    And yes, everyone burns different. I would burn 600 cal doing a Turbo Kick class and my girlfriend, doing the same class, would burn about 400.

    I do bodypump twice a week and burn about 550 cals, not sure if your Gold's offers Sh'bam but it's really fun and I burned about 670 in that one! It's like zumba and you could probably burn about the same in a high impact aerobics class.

    I've heard with body attack you can burn 700-800. The trainer or people at the front desk should have calorie ranges for all of the classes.

    I would definitely invest in an HRM though, I was burning more calories than the machines and MFP were predicting for me. It's good to be as accurate as possible so you can make sure you don't under/overeat.

    Most of all, have a great time in the classes!! :D

    Agreed - my Polar rocks, and keeps me on track. But you get what you pay for with an HRM.
