Should I switch it up ?

I heard switching your exercise routine when you plateau helps you start losing again. I normally do p90xabs (15min. every other day), but lately Ive just been relying on walking a few times a week. I have that last 5 pounds I want to lose. Do you think switching up my exercise will help motivate my metabolism?

if all you are doing is p90x abs then I would suggest adding in some heavy lifting or something...

They say the last 5 are the hardest, I would definitely shake it up.

If you already have p90x why not do the whole program? Ab ripper was not ment to be done by itself and the basic rule of abs is they are made in the kitchen first. In other words diet effects 95% of achieving abs.

I think you should revisit your diet (or at least mention it on the thread) if you can't lose the last 5 pounds.

I don't think metabolisms can be motivated, sorry.

I switch it up all the time, to avoid boredom. You'll exercise your whole life if you enjoy it, and there's so much great stuff out there to try. Definitely switch it up!

The one time I actually managed to lose those last 5lbs and get to my goal weight was by doing HIIT for 20-30 mins. 3 x week.

There is no such thing as a plateau. Banish this myth and you will be fine.

    129.4 10/02

Think I was getting bored too. The walks lead to runs sometimes, and I have to admit it makes my core feel a lot better than the latter. In a new way ;)
