Wow - do you really wear only 1-2 sizes? I am 152 now, and 5'6. My clothes range from size 6 to size 12 depending on the brand...

    5'7.5"

SW 326, Pants size 26/28, shirt size 4XL, bra size 48DDD (I think)
CW 158.5, Pants size 8/10, shirt size M, bra size 34D
GW 155 (oh man!), same sizes (but hopefully firmly size 8 pants)

My goal weight is going to be the first time I'm considered 'healthy' on a BMI chart in my adult life. I might adjust down five or so pounds depending on how I feel about how my body looks.

    144 lbs
    Pants Size 8
    Shirt Size Medium
GW: 120 lbs and whatever size pants with size small shirts.
I want to make a correction. I actually wear size 10 in pants. A size 8 is isually a tight fit where it pushes against my stomach when I sit. This leaves me wondering if I am just wider towards the bottom or if people that are my same weight are just putting up with the tightness. Please tell me.

    SW: 160 -- pants size 10/12, shirts L
    CW: 122 -- pants size 6, shirts M/S

I'm not sure with goals. Originally I couldn't imagine going under 115, but now I don't feel like I look a ton different. So I'm thinking eventually I'll be looking for 100 or so. My hips don't have much more flab left over the bone, so I don't anticipate my pants getting much smaller.

    I'm 5' feet and 0.5 inch tall
    SW 217lbs Pants : 18 , Shirts :1X
CW 160 lbs pants: 12, shirts L sometimes (rarely) M
GW 125 lbs I'd be happy to wear a size 6 pants and medium or small shirts

I just noticed I only drop 1 size per 20 lbs loss, is that normal lol?

    CW: 183 - Size 14 and L shirts

At least, that's what I was last time I was at 145.

interesting to read the wide variety of responses for the same weight . . . Nowadays so many brands do vanity sizing, too, so it's hard to know what ones "real" size is. Anyway, I am 5'6.5" and I usually wear a 2-4. My measurements are 34/24/35-36 (I'm never sure where to measure hips) and I weight around 125 / 126 pounds. I started out (at the age of 12) around 180 pounds and 5'5," size 15/16. My weight yo-yo'd until probably 3 years ago and I've been about the same since, but with more muscle since I've been lifting weights regularly!

    5'1"

SW: 162 - Size 12 (never bought, just sausaged into vanity 10s), L shirt
    Milestone: 155 Size 10, M shirt
    Milestone: 140 Size 8, M shirt
    CW: 134 Size 6, S/M shirt
GW: Size 4, weight doesn't matter

Notes: I've moved from an 8 pant to a 6 pant while losing very little on the scale. I think my heavy strength training lately is the cause because I have been 134 in the past and nowhere near a 6.

I just had to buy new pants yesterday, so I actually have something to contribute here.

    5'9"
    Age: 27
    SW: 328 Pants: Size 22 Shirt: 2XL
CW: 277 Pants: Size 18 Shirt XL

I was getting super frustrated because I was still wearing the same jeans I had been in, even though I've lost 52 pounds. They were baggy, but they still fit if I washed them. Then I went shopping and discovered I was two sizes smaller.

I am 5'6", 50 yo and weigh 169.8 lbs. I wear US size 8-10, or medium.

Even when I was young and weighed 50 lbs less I never wore smaller than a size 5 pants because I have wide hips and a 'bubble butt'. I've always had to alter my pants because if they fit my hips, the waist is too big.
