Doctors in the Encintas, CA area?

I'm trying to get treated for my condition, but I haven't had any luck with the doctors I have seen. I know I have issues that are making me obese, and I need medication to get thin. All of the doctors are trying to give me diet plans, and don't worry, I plan to stick up for myself and file lawsuits against them for malpractice. But to my original question, does anyone know and REAL doctors in the area?

I feel like maybe I shouldn't touch this thread with a ten foot pole but I'm so curious.

What "condition" and did you self diagnose or do you have a legit diagnosis? Also if weight is a symptom and you think that's not the answer, maybe you should see a physciatrist or psychologist to get something else sorted out.

What medication are you looking for specifically? Because if there was a magic drug that caused people to lose weight, none of us would be heavy.

I know some excellent doctors in Encinitas, but I'm not about to put someone like you in touch with them.

From what I can tell just reading online, Qsymia contains phentermine which is really not that great. Basically it's a bunch of stimulants, and not a good idea.

So this tells me that you're looking to lose weight in a quick fix and that it is not in fact a medical issue. Like I said before, I think you're better off with a phyciatrist for mental health.

Set up MFP and use it in the mean time. You might surprise yourself. But the decision to change is on you entirely, and no one here is going to support excuses of this nature. I've been there, trust me, and until I faced the realities of the position that I had put myself in, I couldn't change. A little introspection will go a long way in this situation.

is Qsymia an anti-delusional drug? if it isn't, then you should continue shopping

If there's a specific medication you want, go in and ask for it. Be frank with the doctor and tell him/her the truth -- that you don't want a diet/exercise plan, you just want that one medication. But, then actually listen to what the doctor has to say. You're paying for their knowledge and not just their prescription pad, right? After all, you're not a doctor, are you?

You're probably right, I should listen. I just get so mad at myself sometimes.

Lots of people aren't great at communicating with their doctors, so it may just be a communication issue. Your doctor may not know that you want medication, so it's okay to just ask about it. However, you may not be a good candidate, so you HAVE to listen to what they say afterward. If a medication isn't appropriate for you, the doctor is protecting your health by not giving it to you.

I often threaten lawsuits against people who are doctors and give me reasonable medical advice when I get mad at myself. Perfectly reasonable.

You're threatening to ruin doctors' careers for giving you reasonable medical advice, but we're mean?

I am a local member (local to San Diego County). With the UCSD Medical System a stones throw away we have some of the best medical professionals anywhere.

All of that said, you won't find much sympathy on these forums if you are looking for an easy out for weight loss. Most of us learned WE are responsible for our bodies and there is no quick fix for being "over-weight". People are not as you put it "being mean", they have lived through people looking for help who have not accepted their help must come from inside themselves first...

I have close affiliation with two people who embarked down the path of medication and surgery. If you spoke to them now they would not advise that path. They struggle daily to maintain the limited amount of weight loss they retained. The best medication and surgery will not change a person's eating habits...

As others have suggested, I suggest you find a physician with good references and listen to what they advise. Take this advice to heart, based on my experience; the first thing my UCSD Internist suggested was I seek help from a nutritionist; and, because I WAS a type 2 diabetic, reduce my sugar consumption. With this advice and a lot of self determination (and the help of daily logging my food into MFP) I lost over 90 pounds.

    Best of luck to you...

Confused how the flag works now...because the original post...she's got an 8 next to her flag and all her posts are still visible. So apparently posts that are flagged 5 times or more aren't removed automatically? ? I've not been around today... anything new about the report side I should know? thanks :)

It might be flagged 4 times for spam and 4 times for abuse. I guess they're counted separately.

But thank you for the tips otherwise. I'll talk to a doctor and take their advice. I'll get there through diet and exercise.
