What do you categorize toning/sculpting in MFP online

We will be starting a class this week that is half zumba/half toning and sculpting. It will be a mixup of the two. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to put it in under in my exercise. We don't use the app (they want too much access to my phone) and you can't really add anything in here. What do you recommend I log it under?

you can't really add anything in here
    What do you mean?

How long is the class? Log 2 exercises separately if you want (eg, For 1 hour class: 30 min Zumba, 30 min weight lifting or circuit training, depending on what you think fits better)

As an aside, "MFP online" is the same as the app, just in a web browser instead of downloaded to your phone.

I can't add an exercise like "toning" is what I'm saying. I was looking for a comparable. I see a lot of people can post exercise from the HRM's, I didn't know if there was anything else I could do sans one

You need to be more specific as to what you're doing when you're "toning" if you want to enter something comparable to what you're doing.

You can't add toning because it's not an exercise and means nothing essentially. There is no such thing as "toning". I'm assuming this class does resistance training in the form of calisthenics or circuit training. That's what you should log it as.

Right, there's no such thing as toning.

Also, when they use weights in zumba they're like 5 or 3 pounds, with a ton of reps, and you're not really burning any extra calories. In fact, you might be burning less when you stop to use the weights than if you had kept dancing.

When I go to zumba, if it's an hour class-I usually log it around 30-35 minutes and eat those calories back.
  • I log mine under calisthenics (push ups, crunches) only because they are part of my routine and calculate how many minutes. This also includes my kettle bell exercises and free weights.

Toning is a factor of reducing bodyfat which is largely a factor of nutrition. Put your exercise in as it is, arm curl, zumba, etc.
