Running. Don't substitute for pie crust, make enough calories available

Lets just make the pie like regular and eat a smaller piece.

This. Seriously. Cut it into more pieces. Boom. Lower calorie and lower fat.

Just eat the pie and the crust and build the rest of your days diet around it... no need for "alternatives" that make bakers want to cry....

    This all the way!

If you can't work pie into your day then find an apple alternative (baked apples or an apple crisp). But "diet" pie crust should be a crime.

Don't mess with the pie crust, you could go with 1 crust and a crumble top but a good pie crust shouldn't not be ruined.

Hell I use lard and butter in mine, and have had no problems losing weight. Crying baker over here at the suggestions

Agree with others who say don't mess with the crust. I don't care for pie crust, so I just make pie without it, or do a crisp or cobbler. But if you like it, figure out a way to make it fit into your calorie goal.

Phyllo dough, very flaky and great for pumpkin pies. Many recipes online use it.

    This^

Phyllo sheets work great. You find them in the freezer aisle.

I, always the strange one here, but it works for me. I use a egg roll wrapper. I dice the apples with cinnamon, tiny amount of sugar and 1 T butter for about 4 apples. Cook till slightly soft, put in egg roll wrapper spray with oil mister or spray whatever works, and bake at 375 till brown and crispy. Sprinkle with cinnamon while still warm. Very crunchy and makes you feel like you are eating a piece of pie. Have tried this with several other fruits and pears.. Hope you like this.

If you mean a flaky type crust, I don't think there is any such thing as a lowfat pie crust. Because the fat/flour ratio has to be pretty exact, or you have a mess on your hands. Consider an almond flour crust. Not necessarily lower in calories, but it is lower in carbs, and high in fiber.

this. Or...just make that yummy yummy pie and have half the serving size you'd normally have. Mmmmm then you can enjoy it and it will last longer!
