Kettlebell injury

Options
Hi two days ago when I was doing my kettle bell class I felt my lower back in what I can say was a twinge I've never hurt my back before. Anyways has anyone ever done this ? I'm pretty gutted as I'm now restricted in bending at all I think I may have ripped a muscle. I tried a 5k walk yesterday but I crawled it.

What's recovery time on this? A few days? Any advice would be great!

I'm hoping a few days trying to stretch as much as possible but even after that walk I found I was even more stiff  I just want to get bk to it and not lose what I've done so far .. Cheers!

I would assume that you will make a full recovery within a few years, most likely.

If you think you ripped a muscle you should probably get it checked out as back injuries can get really serious if you don't take care of them. You may have just pulled a muscle which I've done a couples times either lifting wrong or sleeping awkwardly and it took me few weeks to completely recover. Good luck!

Know who would know? A doctor.
Go see one before you seriously injure yourself (if you haven't already)

    You should ask a doctor.

Definitely go get it checked out by a doctor. Don't exercise through injuries, because that makes them worse. Also, before doing kettlebells again, you need to have your kettlebell form checked to make sure you are using proper form. Was this during swings, or was it some other type of kettlebell exercise?

Stretch for a few days and see how it is. If you're still having trouble bending, see an ortho. Doesn't sound like you're in too much pain, so it shouldn't be fracture or disc rupture.
I hurt my back 2 months ago and still recovering, but I was in bed rest for a day, had muscle spasms and could barely bend for 4 weeks. Still recovering :(

A 5K run or walk of any kind would be contraindicated with this type of injury. Rest and stretch. It will improve over time. It would not be a bad idea to get seen by a Dr. especially if it does not improve soon.

I strain the discs from time to time doing kettlebell swings & it leaves me unable to get into the car without lowering myself with my arms. A week off and back extension exercises usually do the job. I have no idea what you've tweaked. Common sense: see a back specialist doc, chiro or PT if it doesn't improve after a week off. Check out McKenzie exercises.
