Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a macro split for cutting. I am currently doing 40p/20c/40f and am seeing some results but I'm reading else where that maybe that is too much fat? please help! I'm currently 139lbs and work out 5 days a week doing heavy weight training and 20-40minutes of cardio each day, my goal is to lean out and build muscle

I would have said a little too much protein, LOL. If you were to reduce fat you would probably increase carbs to compensate and I can't see that helping.

Calculate your lean body mass and determine how much protein to eat based on that number. This is the right way to calculate your needed protein intake. MFP uses percentages which is not the right method. Find the correct number and then choose whatever percentage on MFP that is the closest.

this, or use 0.8g/lb if you cannot calculate. Will over-estimate if you are heavier but it might be a better starting point than 40% of your calories.

    And

Why MFP doesn't allow precision is beyond my understanding. Such a flawed system, unfortunately the only one that seems to have the fewest issues for me to work with.
