I started MFP a couple months ago and have lost 14lbs since joining. As of today I still need to lose 100.6 lbs to meet my goal. Looking for people with similar goals to add for support. Let's do this together!

Congrats on the 14 pounds, that's a wonderful great month. I have 50 pounds left to lose and I lose slowly, so I have a goal of 5 pounds a month and expect it to take a year. Having long term and short term goals, even weekly goals, keeps me focused. Celebrate reaching each small goal. You should mark your 1month win with something special. MP3 player for working out to, or a new gym outfit. New shoes. Something that makes you feel you are well on your way.
The hundred can't been your only gage of sucess. Feel sucess with every day, every milestone, every healthy meal, every great workout, every revelation, keep a diary so you can look back and see how far you came. The blog on this site works great. You can make it private, or share.
    Great start, Well done.

I started the adkins in 2001 and dropped 77 lbs in about 2 months, unfortunately I gained 33 lbs back so I was still down 43 on my home scale. I was in the process of switching jobs right about this time and my new workplace had a couple of ladies doing weight watchers. I couldn't go to the meetings because I worked thru lunch but they purchased the books and information I needed so I started doing it on my own and weighing at home every Thursday so when I walked in they would ask me so I was accountable. I started at 288 on the company scale and lost another 41.50 I had been yoyoing with adkins and weight watchers but 17 months ago I started going to the gym and have really toned up. When people ask what I've lost I say over 100 but my actual weight loss as of today is 132 I think if I say it they will be grossed out at what I was at. My home scale had been off about 20 pounds when I started and is still not accurate but it's for my personal use. I started with it so I'll end with it. I learned from the Biggest Loser that I have worked hard for the 132 pounds lost and I do deserve to say it Proudly, I've lost 132 !! From taking away pounds lost to what I weight now at my heaviest I was 331 :( I was a size 4x shirt and size 24 Jeans. That was my turning point when I had to move up from 3x and 22. I am now in a large top and 12 pants, even 10 stretchy. Hope this encourages you, also the book "Made to Crave" is very inspirational.

to get to my "ideal" weight, I would have to lose about 170 lbs. To get to MY goal, one I find realistic, I need to drop about 130. Seems like such a big number...I mean, that's a WHOLE PERSON. My disgusting, abnormal skinny little sister maybe weighs a BUCK-O-FIVE soaking wet. (I'm going to throw out there that we are both adopted and she has freakish alien genes that allow this to happen!) But still, that's not fun to grow up around, though my family has never been the type to judge.

Hang in there, I really feel like THIS is MY year, and I'm glad to be on the journey with others that can understand my struggles.

100lbs seems like so much, and it's going to be a hard process....we didn't put the weight on overnight, so it'll take a while. But we can do it ladies!

I'm in - I hope this thread sticks around! It's fun to share info and get to know each other. Friend me if you like. I've been at it since February and have lost 25 of the 120lbs I want to drop. I feel so much better already. Looking forward to each milestone. Had to pin the back of my dress pants this week so they would stay up.

What's the one frivolous thing you want to do once you are at your goal weight? I want a piggy back ride from DH:heart:

DH is dear husband :) I would love to get a piggy back ride from my hubby to be. The thing I want the most (and maybe tmi....) is to be able to go to Victoria's Secret, or any store that sells lingerie, and a) find something that fits me and b) not feel like everyone is thinking "gross....she should NOT wear that" when i look at anything! The only reason I don't own anything sexy like that is because I have a hard time finding my size, and feel like i look silly.

OMG I absolutely HATE going into stores that dont carry my size (usually for my tween sister). I feel SO out of place and I feel like people are wondering why I'm there. I'd actually like to shop for lingerie in VS and not just perfume. Boo. I used to be embarrassed that I could only shop at Lane Bryant in the mall. Especially when I went with my average sized friends. Now I rarely have the money to shop there anyway. They rip us off sooo bad. I saw a shirt in LB for 50 at a discount store for 10. The cut was a little different, but the material was the exact same black and white satin pattern.

Better yet, when I have to go there to buy things for my 17 going on
18 yo daughter, not only feel like "gross....she should NOT wear that", but TOO OLD to wear that! :/ In the eyes of most heavy = old! IME Last year when I tore my calf muscle, my hubby DID carry me on his back! Stud! Lol Our joke was "She ain't heavy, she's my wife!" Haha
