Ok so I don't know if this is the right section, but it has to do with nutrtion. I'm confused as to whether or not bowel movements are supposed to float or sink. So I'm hoping that someone will know the true answer.

Depends.
Probably varies from what you're eating.
The density is gonna be different.0 -
a high amount of fiber, which is desirable, will cause it to float.0
-
float:)) saw it on "You Are What You Eat"0

A chiropractor told me that if your poo doesn't float, you need to get more fiber in your diet.0

go rent the movie "caddyshack" fast forward to the scene with the pool evacuation regarding the snickers bar in the water.
it may not be real poo but if you think of the little girl seeing the snickers bar float by her as she begins to shout "doody doody!" you will mostly likely always remember that your poo should float.

Glad I have already eaten lunch  Correct me if I am wrong but Bill Murray ate the pool poo and I believe it was a Baby Ruth. Great movie. BTW, I will have to check mine on my next visit to the throne.0 -

The only thing important thing about bowel movements is that you have them and are not constipated, bloated, or gassy all the time.0

You cannot believe everything you read on the internet, and google kinda sucks sometimes. I rather ask some people that I trust.0 -

We were told at school that they should float, but I have my doubts. Statistically few people get enough fibre, but when our biology teacher asked whose poos floated most of the class raised their hands, which seemed weird to me.
I go over on fibre according to mfp quite regularly and my poos very seldom float, unless I'm ill.0 -

From the uptick in thread moderation i'm seeing, I feel the people complaining about offensive images have a valid beef. Moderate within the rules, not via personal bias.0 -
This is actually something I remember from nursing school: Higher the fat content the more it floats. There wasn't anything mentioned about fiber though so I ddin't know that part LOL!0
-
I was told by a trainer and a doctor that floating means there is too much fat in your diet.... actually if you want to make sure you have enough fiber your poo should be soft0
