LOVING my curves... Goddess-In-Training inside ;)

I took these pictures today and am *thrilled* with my progress .... it's sometimes so difficult for me to see my progress, but today it was really clear in my photos.

Almost a year of calorie restriction (macros conscious) and heavy lifting... I have another year or so to go before I reach my end goal size (slow and steady is my story).

I will post a more detailed year's summary in 2-3 weeks, but I loved these pictures so much that I had to share...

comparison of my beginning me and my current me:

Awesome! How much weight have you lost so far?

Not that it matters. You look amazing!

I wish I had an hourglass figure like that!!

ok... this is the CRAZY part. I've only lost 35 lbs, all of which was in the first 6 months, but have slowly gained 10 of it back in the past 6 months (suspecting hormonal bc issues for this, but not entirely sure just yet)... so my net loss is only 25 lbs.

it. blows. my. mind... how much lifting heavy reshapes me so drastically with minimal weight loss.

I've dropped 3.5 dress sizes, looking to drop 2 more... I'm not looking to be super-duper fit, I'm more the type that will happily hold on to a bit of fat to have the curves that I want. I lift heavy because strong is sexy... and I'm a goddess-in-training :p

    thank you :)

I wouldn't put it down to genetics, though. Losing weight in the past never gave me the amount of curves that I'm getting now.... my waistline was never as defined and my butt was not as perky.

Lifting heavy has done wonders for my body recomposition. Through progressive loading, I've seen inches melt away and my butt getting tighter and perkier... it's so awesome!

You look fab! Can I ask if you're following a particular lifting programme and what else do you do in terms of exercise and what macro balance do you use (and within that do you iifym or eat a specific way?) Sorry for all the questions, but your results are really inspiring.

I only lift heavy on the weekends since I'm a single mother (between work and getting home in time to do homework, feed and bathe my 6 year old, I really have no time to go to the gym while my child is awake)

Saturday is my legs, glutes, abs and traps day. Sunday is my chest, shoulders, back and arms day... I also do some body weight exercises sporadically during the week: pushups, glute exercises ... and I get on the elliptical once or twice a week for 35-45 minutes, too.

For non-heavy lifting days, my macros split is pretty even ... for my heavy lifting days, I usually hit 40+% in protein and let the carbs/fats fall where they will. I make sure I hit my protein and fiber count with whole foods, and then allow myself to fill in the rest of my caloric needs with whatever I like. I take in a protein shake on lifting days to help hit the 40%.
