Hi jbach2,
It was some sort of transformation in life style based on counting calories. First I set target of 700 cal/day for intake, along with doing whatever I can to burn calories, like stairs instead of elevators. I used to park my car very far from office just to burn 5 cals. I did leave my desk for 5 minutes every 1 hour to climb the stairs for 4 floors to burn 10 cals, and so on. Counting burnt calories by end of day can be upto 300 cals from such small activities. Additionally, I set goal of 3 cups of ginger/green tea mix daily, and 8 cups of pure water to reduce toxics in my body and enhance metabolism. I started to do walking and jogging after 6 months from beginning of the journey, hence burning another 300 cals per day. Don't forget intimate relation that really helps to burn approximate of 200 cals per session.
That's it, I figured out every cal entered my body, and looked how to burn cals easily by changing my life style and encouraging myself.-7 -

So, what were you able to eat in a day of only 700 calories? What did a typical day look like? I'm sure you had to find the most filling food! Just curious for inspiration. Congrats to you! Great job and way to stay focused!0
-
Also, did you take any supplements, vitamins, HCG....?0

Sorry for being too late as my son was admitted in the hospital for past 4 days and I didn't check the notifications. First, I haven't taken either supplements or vitamins or anything else, just the healthy food, and monitoring the daily intake of calories, carbs, protein and fat, and trying to keep them in the healthy range.
A typical day is 3 meals and goes like this
07:00 AM: Bran toasted bread slice (76 kcal) + Red Edam cheese (101 kcal) + unsweetened turkish coffe (0 kcal)
01:00 PM: 30 gm of dates (50 kcal)
06:00 PM: grilled (not roasted) chicken thigh w/o skin (186 kcal) or equivalent protein source + Mixed fresh vegetables salad (Tomato + cucumber + lettuce + sweet pepper + onion + lemon fruit) (approx. 120 kcal) + 1/2 cup steamed rice (no oil or other additions) (110 kcal)
09:00 PM: Orange fruit (68 kcal)
Total = 76+101+50+186+120+110+68=711 kcal
this ensures the most important elements your body needs daily. You can change whatever you want but be sure to replace it with item contains same elements, like replacing red edam cheese with cheddar cheese or turkey slice, and chicken thigh can be replaced with slice of beef or veal meat without any fats, and so on.
Also don't forget to drink enough water daily, and don't drink any water after your meal at least 1 hour to eliminate digestion problems.
Another hint is to stuck with low glycemic index carbs in your breakfast to ensure balanced support of energy and lower insulin rate in your blood. This also will help you feel full for long period.
Did I forget anything? just ask for any missing point or for further help. I want to share my journey with all of you and help friends as much as I can.-5 -

Thanks for the great advise hummynbyrd. Actually I'm following program of Mark Lauren described in "You are your own gym". It is a great book as well and explains nutrition and building muscles techniques in a very simple scientific way. I started one month ago and results are great. BTW I exercise 6 days a week for 90 minutes excluding cardio time.0 -
Oh my goodness, you look fantastic! Congats!0

Will be interesting to see if this <700 calorie diet thread stays up.
My prediction: this post will be flagged into oblivion while the thread survives. It's the "new and improved" MFP flag system.
ETA: looks like my prediction was right on. Assuming a mod nuked PP's post, will be interesting to learn justification for letting this <700 thread survive.
ETAM: actually, since PP's post completely disappeared, it appears a mod nuked it...but left the entire <700 calorie thread. Have the rules about VLCD threads changed recently?
ETAEM: an abuse flag? Really?0 -
Posting since it appears some may need clarification. This is from the MODS3 Different types of Flags and How to Use Them:
Spam: Use this flag to report BOT style spam. If its a non-sense post with a link or one account posting a flood of oh say posts about an astrology hotline, then please use this flag to report it. 5 flags will automatically move that content into the spam queue to be reviewed by our moderators. Items in the spam queue are hidden until they are either approved by a moderator as not being spam or are deleted by a moderator after being verified as spam. If a person is advertising (i.e. buy my great new product), please use the Reported Posts flag.
Abuse: Use this flag to report extreme abuse of our guidelines; such as posting of pornographic images or hate speech. 5 flags will automatically move that content into the abuse queue to be reviewed by our moderators. Items in the abuse queue are hidden until they are either approved by a moderator as not being abuse or are deleted by a moderator after being verified as abuse. Items marked for abuse should be both severe and urgent. If it does not meet this criteria it will be approved by a moderator and returned to the community without further action.
*Reported Posts*: Use this flag to let us know about posts that violate our Community Guidelines or to ask us to delete your own post. Every post that is reported goes into a Reported Posts queue that is reviewed by a staff or volunteer moderator. This content is not hidden while its in review.
I personally don't recall seeing anything posted thus far that qualifies as spam, pornography or hate speech so I am unclear as to why some posts have gone poof....
