How big is a cup?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how big a cup actually is. How much does a cup of rice wiegh for instance?

I think my problem is I've always been a mug girl myself!! :smile:

    Take a cup, measure food item, weight said item, note the result. There you go.

    No, a cup is a measurement of volume, not mass. ex. 250ml

    Doesn't work like that. Cup is a volume measure, not a weight measure. Water is 8oz to a cup, other things are more or less than that for the volume based on a lot of factors.
