In real life, junk food is still junk.
That was very well put.
Why is it that the people that complain the most about junk food or sugar never have open diaries?
Time for more chocolate
Because you asked:
I wasn't complaining about junk food nor do I have ill feelings towards it. Why would I? I don't eat it or crave it. Was I commenting about it? yes. it's a forum.
I never enter anything into my diary. Why would I? I don't count calories or keep track of the amount of food I eat to care enough about a diary. I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. (I also eat when I'm full, esp when it's delicious). I do watch the types of food that go into my mouth very carefully and I don't need a diary for that. Just a set of eyes. I'm not on this website for help. I'm on this website to help.
How are you going to help on a website for calorie counting when you don't count calories?
By steering people away from focusing on calorie counting and on factors that I think are more important.
No not necessarily. MFP has good intentions. Just to increase health awareness/
it's a calorie counting site.
it's job is to provide a platform for people to count calories conveniently.
it is under no obligation to "increase" health awareness. or anything else.
it's a tool. Like a calculator or a scale. it's just to quantify things. that's it. That is the ONLY job of MFP.

You are so off base it isn't even funny. The tracking application is meant for counting calories. The forum isn't really. Nobody is asking for mathematical help on how to count numbers here. We are discussing the process of weight loss. We are discussing exercises and techniques. We are sharing recipes. We are motivating each other with success stories and other tips. You are just completely wrong saying that MFP is ONLY meant for counting calories.
Forum is a support platform TO the actual site.
I'm not saying support doesn't happen here- and that there isn't a community here- MFP's purpose exits to count calories- the forum is an addendum to that.
Otherwise- this would just be a random site where people talk about food a lot.
You say that like it's a bad thing
I guess to her it is...sad

This lol... its my weakness. And it is so worth it! I dont want to obsess and deny myself treats. So I try to plan the best I can to fit it within my daily allowance but if I go a little over today celebrating Halloween then so be it. It is just one day!0 -

Too late! Now I'm gonna have more! YAY for candy!0

I thought by "candy" you meant "slutty girls in sexy costumes".
Leaving disappointed.0 -
Actually OP, I would like to thank you for posting this helpful tool. I have logged my breakfast and lunch and prelogged my dinner (yeah taco stew) now I have a handy cheat sheet to decide which combinations of candies to choose while I am walking around trick or treating with my kids tonight.
I also need a cheat sheet for Pumpkin Beer (with the stew), Red Wine (during trick or treating), and Baileys & Coffee (when we get home).
Math is hard.

I will do 50 burps for a Snickers. Some things are worth the effort.0

this is really just all in good fun. I think we all understand that there's an unhealthy relationship between exercise and candy and, portion control, and this isn't actually true and blah blah blah... there's no need to smother everyone with your politically correct beliefs and whatnot... sigh.0

i added the calorie count up. 754 calories. that is a fifty minute run for me. gimme candy.0

I am with the OP--this actually helps me decide if one small piece of crappy low quality candy is worth it. I KNOW I'm going to hear all about how "my idea of crap is different than everyone else's". Well, clearly. Isn't that what we are all trying to figure out--how to live in normal life AND not be overweight and unhealthy? Aren't those the decisions we all make every day? I would MUCH rather have a cookie or slice of pie or croissant any day than candy. BUT that is my choice. Just like money, we are all deciding how to "spend" our calories. If I want to save some calories to spend on candy, that's up to me, but at least I know what I'm in for. I teach and there is candy EVERYWHERE today. Most of it is garbage I don't like so I am not eating it. Now if almond joys come my way I could eat my body weight in almond joys. Everything else-MEH, pass.

Thank you!! I'd been too lazy to get the total count. Makes not having to choose much easier.

I blame mfp... I input food, it gives me total numbers... I used to be great at quickly adding numbers in my head.

Ive learned to eat candy (chocolate) in moderation all year round but I do think the concept behind the OP's post is spot on for some....a lot of people think candy is behind some secret vault all year and on Halloween its a free for all. Just eat the darn stuff in moderation if you like it, However if a Cadbury Fruit & Nut was on that board I would be looking at some serious Squats and Jumping Jacks well worth it.0

How much candy do I earn by walking my kids around the neighborhood in the pouring rain for 3 hours? Answer: not enough0
-
Thinking this way towards food will just create an unhealthy relationship with it. You shouldn't have to "punish" yourself through a workout because you had a treat. Exercise should be a reward for your body. You are getting healthy and strong. If you have Halloween candy, enjoy it! Don't worry about what "torture" you'll have to do to burn it off. Eat the piece(or pieces!) of candy and have fun!0

I love how the OP posted a troll thread and then skipped out. Sitting back to watch the lulz.
That's not fair - she did come back a few pages in actually.
Nobody since has actually asked a question of OP so what else does she have to post about it?
I don't find these sorts of charts helpful but no reason to think OP's intentions weren't genuine.

So since we changed our minds about giving out candy last night, guess what my pre-work breakfast will be? A couple Mini Crunch bars! That will immediately be worked off by running around my store. Mmmmmm.0

worked cancelled... and since I was slotted to work- I didn't pick up any candy- so I went to the gym- then went to CVS and picked up emergency candy. it was christmas candy. shrug- it was open in case of emergency trick or treat-ers.
No one came. MUAH HA HA HA HA HA All the candy - ALL THE TIME!!! ALL FOR ME~!!!!0
