I think you've been told this in the past, and it still applies, please seek help from a medical professional.0

Please see a doctor. Please tell them that you've been starving yourself and are no longer menstruating.

It seems you are much too young and too thin to be on a very low calorie diet. You are already in a healthy range for weight (if you are 5' tall), so you should be maintaining at a minimum of 1,250 cals. a day (not including exercise, which would give you more calories). Perhaps you could seek the counsel of a trusted teacher, pastor, or parent if you are having trouble with an eating disorder.

"Long-term calorie restriction at a level sufficient for slowing the aging process is generally not recommended in children, adolescents, and young adults (under the age of approximately 21), because this type of diet may interfere with natural physical growth, as has been observed in laboratory animals. In addition, mental development and physical changes to the brain take place in late adolescence and early adulthood that could be negatively affected by severe calorie restriction."

Yes... yes it can. It can also make you lose hair, deteriorate the quality of your skin and nails, and eventually cause organ failure which will kill you.0

I notice I was flagged for this post. Worms are a source of iron, and therefore my information is spot on.
"Iron: Studies have shown that women who do not get sufficient amounts of iron may suffer anovulation (lack of ovulation)"
"Earthworms are also a source of iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and copper."

Sorry but we cannot support a diet like this at MFP.
Oh my gosh, that is a really scary "plan." I wonder what a doctor would say about that plan for someone at normal weight? How long would it take to get to the hospital?0 -

Hi,
How have you determined this specific number of 500 calories a day? Also, are missed periods the only thing you've encountered while being on this very low calorie diet? No other health complications? I'm asking, because I'm concerned that you may not be getting sufficient vitamins, minerals and nutrients, which are essential for a healthy body, with just 500 calories.0 -
