what I have learned logging in 37 days straight.

I have learned that I want a lifestyle change not to drop 20 lbs in thirty days. I was frustrated at first because I realized that was the way I was acting even though I told others it was a lifestyle change. A sprinter and a marathon runner approach the raise differently. There is nothing wrong with having a specific target by a specific day. I did it for years but it's not where I am today. Logging has taught me to me more present about what I eat. I really didn't know I was eating so many calories. The scale has stayed the same but my clothes fit better and my measurements are smaller. I notice it, not sure others do yet. I am making better choices with food. I am exercising more than I did 37 days ago. If I really want something I adjust my calories and walk more. I will continue to log and exercise to be healthy. Thank you for this site I learned more about me than just the number on a scale.

That's wonderful! I also never realized how much I was eating. Eating less has taught me to really enjoy my food by eating slower and being more mindful of the meal.
Thanks for the reminder that there's no hurry! I get impatient sometimes (like today) and I can't wait to be "done".0 -
I've been in maintenance for basically 4 years...I only have about 10lbs I want to lose but I have been stuck the same for years now. I'd lose some then gain it back...nothing major just 5-10lbs. I've always considered that I ate well and worked out regularly, a mix of cardio and strength training. Then 44 days ago I said to myself, let's see what happens when I log every day, everything I put in my mouth. No skipping on the weekends or stop logging when I knew I had blown my calories with a big lunch. Log everything, everyday. And you know what? It works!! Not sure how much I have actually lost but I see the difference in my body. And that is something I have been half-*kitten* trying to do for years. So that is what I learned. You may think you are doing everything "right" but if you are not logging, honestly and consistently logging then you don't know if you are truly hitting your calorie/macro goals or not. Just those extra 300-400 calories you don't log add up and that is why I wasn't seeing the results.0

Yes. This. I feel the exact same way. I used to be a constant grazer. I thought it was because I was hungry but it was more-so because I was bored or thought I should be eating because the clock told me so.
