I need more 'natural' protein

Hello!

I'm upping my protein intake to 50% - and I'm really struggling (Carbs at 30% and Fats at 20%).

I do not want to take protein shakes, because I'm trying to stay away from processed foods.


Any high protein meals / snacks you can suggest?

    buy a family pack of chicken breasts and cook it up. eat it all in a week. lunch time? chicken. snack time? chicken. dinner time? chicken.

    Chicken, turkey, tuna, steak. I find turkey breast great bang for the calories....with your fat at only 20% turkey breast is a good choice for a lean, high protein meat

    greek yogurt (try mixed with tbsp natural pb or pb2), cottage cheese, tuna on celery, hard boiled eggs, jerky
    there is a recipe for protein pancakes (egg white, cottage cheese, oatmeal) very good

    also one way to add more is increase serving by 1 0z at each meal
    if you are eating 3 oz chicken breast eat 4
    3 egg whites, eat 4
    etc

    Egg whites, peanut flour (which is better than PB2, because you can control the salt and sugar levels, and it's around 92 calories, 15grams of protein, per ounce) and chicken.

    Canned salmon is great protein on a salad with a bit of mayo, dill relish, olive oil & lemon juice, and any salad greens you want. Adding shredded coleslaw mix adds a wonderful crunch (bagged coleslaw, by the bagged salad in the store, no coleslaw dressing).

    Also, I just made a big batch of homemade sausage patties ~ yum! I tripled the recipe to freeze some. You can use any ground meat you want:

    NT Favorite Sausage Patty

    2 pounds ground meat
    1 tablespoon coarse salt (or 2 tsp. salt)
    1 teaspoon rubbed sage
    2/3 teaspoon rubbed summer savory
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1 teaspoon ground marjoram
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/2 tsp dried parsley and 1/2 tsp dried thyme (optional)

    (Optional olive or coconut oil for lean meats - approx. 1-2 tsp. per lb. of meat)

    Mix well, and form into 20 patties. For lean meat, start with a low flame, then finish over medium-high heat to brown, or broil on middle oven rack.

    Also. what processing of processed foods are you trying to avoid? butchering? Skinning? Pasteurization?

    But
    Seafood, chicken, turkey, beans, greek yogurt, eggs, eggwhites are all high in protein amongst many other things

    We eat a lot of rabbit, squirrel, chicken, duck, and deer.
    FYI- if your protein is set that high, you're going to get really tired of eggs and beef really fast.

    Good luck; that combination of high protein with relatively low fat is going to be extremely tricky to hit, particularly if you're dead set on staying away from shakes, protein bars, or other 'processed' forms of protein.
