Anyone ever tried to share YOUR success story as their own?!

Recently, someone I thought was a friend posted a success story about me (including my "diet" plan and before/after pictures) on Facebook WITHOUT my permission. The facts were ALL wrong and they portrayed me in such a negative light. They took pictures of me when I visited with them last. I was very clear when I told them "Please don't post any pictures you take to Facebook or any other social media! I am not done losing weight and its my story, I want to tell it!"
Completely ignoring my wishes, this person decided the personal emails where I had shared what I eat and how I was exercising, posted it to their Facebook, making claims about me and this "diet" I was on. Basically saying I was doing the next big thing and everyone needed to get on the band wagon.
I never claimed to be on an exercise plan or diet, nor do I wish for anyone to copy me. She asked me what I was doing/eating to lose weight and I shared it. I also told them that they could modify whatever to fit their needs/likes. I'm sure by sharing some will say I asked for this. Either way, here on out, I being vague about my methods.
So has anyone shared YOUR success story for their own personal gain?

Not comparable to your story. That person sounds like a freaking weirdo.0

Is this an actual friend, or just a Facebook "friend"? Either way, I'd be de-friending. That's just rude and whacky.0

Yes. Actual real life friend for 6 years. They've never done this before, ever! I am de-friending them on Facebook as well as real life.0

I'm sorry that your friend got things wrong and went against your wishes. I do have a serious question, and I'm not being snarky, just curious, do people not know you are losing weight? Is it a secret? Are you hoping to possibly have some type of monetary gain from your "diet plan" or are you just a private person who doesn't share any pictures period of yourself? I would find it an odd request of one of my friends if they came to visit me if they said, "Christy, don't post any of these!" Unless they are of a "questionable nature" (IE : at a party falling over drunk and they have a job where this is frowned upon), I would be puzzled.
I mean, the story of your success is exactly that, you are correct, yours. I'm just puzzled. Were you hiding the fact that you were losing weight, period until you were finished, them going to have a 'reveal' type thing, or did people know, but you didn't want to say anything until you were finished? Regardless, your friend blabbermouthed and got it wrong, which is what is most disheartening.0 -
A. Kick him in the nads the next time you see him. B. Start an anonymous smear campaign designed to wreak havoc on he and his family. C. Stop letting people take your picture. People suck.0

I didn't tell people I was losing weight and I am a very private person. They've also taken pictures of me before and never posted those pictures to Facebook before.0
