Michael Keaton Batman or Christian Bale Batman. I won't even acknowledge George Clooney or Val Kilmer in this equation.

meh, Batman has Superman and Green Lantern to back him up. Iron Man well, he's kind of a douche to everyone, and I'm sure some people in S.H.I.E.L.D. would like to see him get served some humility.
  • Batman for sure... He has the smarts and the physical brawn.. Ironman just has the smarts.. Batman 7 out of 10 fights

If we're talking a straight fight, batman has nothing over ironman except maybe hand to hand combat which would be entirely irrelevant.

Iron Man. Tony Stark has the guts to kill and Batman always leaves the villain alive to fight another day.

Ironman. One good placed repulsor blast would crack Batman's skull. Of course in the comics, Batman's head is hard as steel, but if we're talking in content of actual human anatomy...................
Plus Tony when drunk is dangerous.

wow, in all the late geeky nights with my brother growing up, how did this incredible match up never come to mind?

that's a tough question. equally matched in many ways.

if it was fight with zero notice, I say iron man.

No one beats the detective when he has time to think.

Maybe the only fair way to decide it is to strip their gadgets and body suits, and have them fight hand to hand. In oil.

I'm torn between my love of the Batman persona and RDJ's droolability...

    Iron Man.

He outpowers Batman by a mile. He's also smarter. Batman is a detective, Iron Man is a genius. Iron Man can fly, Batman can't. Iron Man can create different suits of armor for specific purposes. He can also control all of the suits at once.

But Batman is a better fighter! Ok. Let him fight a laser to the face. Tell me how his karate skills come in handy then.

And how can you say Batman can get Superman and Green Lantern and pretend Tony can't get the Hulk and Thor? Batman fanboys are the worst.

I'd say they are equally matched intellectually. batman creates all his own gadgets in the comic book. if need be, he could build a suit, as he did when he fought superman in the frank miller series 'dark knight returns'. forgive me if this is a repost.

well if were speaking in terms of actual human anatomy... being bounced off of buildings by other superheros (not necessarily batman) whilst in an iron suit wouldn't stop you from being pulverized.

right because a grappling hook is the pinnacle of his inventions. not like he's got several other vehicles etc that he built in a cave, all by himself. presumably iron man can call on any number of resources as he's completely in the open.

DC actually has a intellect scale, but that wouldn't help in cross comparison. but batman would be classified amongst the smartest humans, above that would be entities like brainiac.

My Marvel/DC comic book geek-dom runs 30+ years so I say this with all honesty... Batman wins, given 1 month to prepare.

On multiple occassion Batman has created countermeasures to take out the entire Justice League; what's Iron Man compared to an entire Justice League?
Plus, Tony Stark is too cocky and unstable (drinking, etc.) to take it serious; he'd just show up as-is without preparation thinking he'll win hands-down. Plus, he absolutely sucks at fighting and strategy. Captain America has taken Iron Man down a peg on multiple occassions, including the Extremis-enhanced Civil War version.

I'm going to be a little crazy and throwback to the originals...the comic book versions...

Tony is the engineer of all his own toys. Tony's toys are now the operational backbone of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sorry DC, I'mma have to go Marvel on this one.

ETA unless we are talking Tony vs Bruce...Bruce...unless Tony's drunk..then Tony...too.many.variables.

Ah, you're not familiar with Ironman's refractory coating then. It helps to absorb punishment from impact.
