How does that work?

Throughout the week, I noticed that 4 out of 7 days I haven't netted 1200 calories so slowly I put some of my weight back on. Usually about half a pd to a pd a day. Yesterday I weighed 225, but it was the second day I ate all the calories I was supposed to. Much to my surprise this morning when I got up, I stepped on the scale yet again and I weighed 219, and didn't feel bloated and felt like I was light as air as I did before.

So how does that work? How can the scale read that much one day and then read what it did today? Could it be water weight?

yes, weight can fluctuate 3-7 pounds in 24 hour period. Water weight, waste, too much sodium, can all have an effect. Ergo, the reason why you should only weigh once a week.

this is the reason i only weigh once a week - your body weight fluctuates so much - it needs time to settle

also, i do not have the right frame of mind to deal with the constant increases in weight, even if it is just water weight - even though i know it would settle out, it would send me literally mad with the slightest increase - this is why so many ppl post some depressing posts about weight gain on here

It sounds simple enough to me 1200 calories simply is not enough fuel for your body! On weight watchers I was eating 1400 calories and I would lose weight on Jenny Craig I was eating 1600 calories and lost 2 pounds a weekend here on MFP I was eating 1200 calories and didn't lose anything in 4 weeks...even when I walked 3 1/2 miles most days... All the programs I did in teh past when i could afford to go to them but I already made the decision to up my calories.... Plus what happens when you
platue (sp?) ?? You can't possibly go under 1200 calories... Good luck :flowerforyou:

That's true. It's taken me a long time to realize this too......I was always of the mindset that the less you eat the more you will lose, etc etc. But thanks to soem friends that beat it into my head i don't think like that.
