I am new to working out, and currently I am doing 30 Day Shred and Kettlebell Bombshell. I try to work out 5x a week, but sometimes I am only donig 3-4 times a week due to migraines and just plain tiredness.
My plan is:
Mon: kettlebell lower body
Tues: 30 DS
Wed: kettlebell upper body
Thurs: 30 DS
Fri: kettlebell circuit

Each workout is 20 minutes long. I get good cardio and am sweaty afterwards. Now that the weather is getting nice, I plan on walking for 20-30 minutes some nights after work and on the weekends. Is this enough for me to lose weight? My diary is open, but weekends are blank because I cheat just a little. Thanks for any advice!!

Of course! I only work out twice or thrice a week, once to the gym, and two days at home. But i'm still losing weight because i'm staying around my calorie goal each day. You COULD even lose weight without exercising at all (although that's not adviced). Looks to me you're doing great!

Just don't get to carried away with the weekends. You work too hard during the week, to blow it on one or two days of splurging.

Don't get me wrong, I think cheat days are fine. As long as you pay for them first, ie- extra excersises.

I think you should still be logging your weekends, even if you ARE cheating a little. One REALLY bad weekend can sabotage it all. It fine to have cheat days, I do it from time to time too, but I still log everything I eat. Partially it's an accountability thing... keeps me honest. It also helps me make sure I'm not going TOO crazy with the 'cheating'. It sounds like the exercise you're doing is fine, just (my advice) start logging EVERY day and not just the days you're being 'good'. It'll be better for you in the long run...

I don't really cheat, but don't log in my food. No fast food or junk food, but I do make a larger meal on Sundays. Yesterday was coconut curry chicken with rice and sweet potatoes.

I should log my weekends because sometimes I think I don't eat enough.

I too think you should be logging on the weekends...for one if your results stall...you may wanna analyze your weekend eating and make it one day instead of both...and its important to know just how much "cheating"you are doing....I dont have cheat days...but last week I went to ****eys BBQ and I logged in everything I hade down to the 2 rolls....and even though I went way over my cals, fat gms and sodium...I held myself accountable...so if I have a plateau...then I can analyze my own situation and know that I cant have many more days like that...and I dont plan for cheat days....but when it happens it happens...this is not a diet, its a lifestlye change...so when I make the concious decision to eat outside the box...its my decision!!!

I was going to suggest you log weekends with that being one of the reasons. I find that many times I won't eat enough or I'll eat a lot more than I thought. I'm horrible at guessing. Yesterday, we got to dinner time and I realized that, because I went for a nice run yesterday morning, I still had over 800 calories to eat!! Needless to say, I didn't end up eating all of them back but at least I made it over 1200 so MFP didn't "yell" at me. :)

Thanks everyone for the insights. I will start logging on the weekends so I can see what I am doing during my "free" days. I don't eat junk or fast food on the weekends, but I may have a fountain soda or a coffee with cream that I don't have during the week.
