I use Pixarra TwistedBrush on all my digital paintings. You can choose from a huge variety of brushes, such as oils, watercolor, ink, crayon, pastels, chalk, and blenders,... just to name a few basics.

I've drawn and painted people, but I wouldn't call the result realism.

As an example, here's a picture I did of the character Beka Valentine from the sci-fi show Andromeda.
