I find a lot of the Americans have different foods then we do, and I'd like to be able to view some diaries of Canadians to get some food ideas.

If you manage to find out how many calories are in a good poutine, you won't want to see any more "Canadian" food again. :'( It's the thing I miss most about living in Ontario....

Victoria BC here. Feel free to add me. I'm not super active though at times but I'm usually supportive and would be glad to lend a hand if asked.

As a Quebecer who lives within breathing distance of La Banquise, I only have two things to say to this:

    1. Poutine is Quebecois food, not Canadian food. Poutines in other parts of Canada are definitely sub-par. (And no, this isn't a political statement. I'm a federalist. But if you're gonna indulge with the zillion calories it involves, you might as well be eating the best.)

    2. A single poutine would probably put me over my calorie goal for the entire *week*.

    In case you were wondering:
À vrai dire, une poutine de grand format (qui se mange très facilement par nous, les Québécois) renferme plus de 700 calories, 2360 mg de sodium et 40 g de matières grasses! De plus, elle contient 13 g de protéines, 25 g de glucides, 9.9 g de gras saturé et 40 mg de cholestérol.
