I was just living in a teeny-tiny apartment with a roommate in grad school and this was my staple shopping list:
Coffee
Creamer - real dairy creamer
Ground beef - split into ~roughly~ 4-5 ounce servings and put in little sandwich ziplock bags and frozen.
Spicy ground sausage - treated the same as the beef
Chicken breast strips - two or three per ziplock bag frozen
Bell peppers
Asparagus
Garlic
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Zuchinni/Yellow Squash
Bananas
Apples
Onions
Potatoes
Eggs --- lots
Crystal Light - or similar drink mix to put in my water
Tea - Earl Grey and Mint
Pasta
Tomato sauce
Popcorn
Olive Oil
Cheese --- I would buy cheese that was on sale a lot. I love brie and they would put those little rounds on manager's special sometimes so I'd get it for like $3. Otherwise I'd get blocks of hard cheddar cheese.
Bread

Coffee
Raw sugar
Spices/sauces
Rice chex
A few cans of soup/chili
Baby carrots
Eggs
Frozen meat (usually a steak & some chicken)
Cilantro (but I feed most of it to my rabbit, so not sure that counts as human food!)
Frozen Udi's bread
Butter
I'd like to start having more healthy, but lasting staples around the house so definitely keeping an eye on this thread!0 -
Always in my house: yogurt, granola, dates, some kinda ice pops (currently Outshine tangerine carrot), laughing cow cheese wedges (lotsa flavors), lean pockets/hotpockets, "steamables" frozen veggie packs, beef jerky, some kinda trail mix (currently edamame/almond/cranberry from costco), protein powder, at least 3 kinds of bbq sauce, soy sauce, seeds of change ready rice, a variety of frozen meats/fish, arnold sandwich thins, deli meat, american cheese singles, at least 5 types of mustard.. staples like olive oil, peanut oil, butter, whole cumin/cardamom/mustard seed and various other spices, dried ancho chilis...
Lots of stuff, idk0 -
Variety of flours, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, etc
Variety of oils (olive, peanut, canola, coconut, etc)
Wide variety of Asian sauces (soy, fish, miran, etc)
Pasta, tortillas, peanut butter
Huge selection of spices & loose leaf tea
Canned tomatoes for making sauces
Rice (white, brown, arborio), beans, lentils, quinoa, barley
Salsa & chips (not too horrible nutrition wise if you stop at ONE serving)
Freezer: Meat, butter, a few vegetable bags, bananas for smoothies
Refrigerator: Eggs, milk, variety of cheese, lettuce, yogurt0 -
I'm a food hoarder... I always have a lot in stock, especially for winter emergencies or periods of time with no employment.
You would be shocked if you knew what i keep or how much of it i have at once.
