Dont bother about other peoples times or distances, its just about you getting ten rows in during December as consistent exercise. Its nice if you can show a bit of improvement but those are personal targets. I will join this time, im really keen to keep going in December.0

My only advice (other than pace yourself) is to consider investing in a seat pad (I have a cheapie foam one I bought at a hardware store) by the last 5K or so your butt can get a little uncomfortable. One of these days I want to try a full marathon......

We did a half marathon as a three person team for a Crossfit team workout. It was not fun at all. The goal was to have one team beat the times that the top level Crossfitters put up in the Crossfit Games a few years back. I think maybe one team managed it at around 1 hour and 15 minutes. My team took just under an hour and a half.
I'm generally a very good rower, but the one thing I learned that I had not realized is that all your power in rowing (and in most other things) comes from your core. I was giving what I thought was the same effort towards the end but just could not generate any force. At that point I realized it was because my abs were completely gassed.0 -
row # 6 for the month (10,000m) this morning0
-
#1 - 60 minutes / 11755 meters
#2 - 61 minutes / 11817 meters
#3 - 60 minutes / 11564 meters
#4 - 60 minutes / 11405 meters
#5 - 65 minutes / 12421 meters0 -
If you are rowing a lot then I think a setapad is a very wise invstment. Concept 2 seat is very uncomfortable for going over 30 mins repeatedly imo. What they said about pacing yourself as well. 5 or 10 seconds pace is massive for me.0

For me, I use the pads sold by C2 - I just stack 2 of them together. Still not a totally cushy feeling, but I can certainly manage 60-70 minutes without it hurting me. All personal experience though.0
