So scientifically, when does the fat come off?

I need a science nerd up in here! When it hits 11:59pm and i just completed my day at a 1000 calorie deficit, did that 1000 calories worth of weight already come off by the end of the day? Or is there a delayed response and that 1000 calories comes off gradually over the next day or two? Would be great if my body was in sync with the time on my iphone

Fat loss is water weight.
Plus carbon dioxide.

Mine is mostly on Tuesday.0

it is a fact that over thinking specifics causes significant psychosis. Usually peaking at 11:59 p.m. unless you have passed out from drinking 1000 calories of Jim Beam.0

Technically you don't "lose" anything except for the water I believe. I read somewhere that it is all just fat cells that expand when you gain weight, and shrink when you lose weight. That's why when some people get liposuction they no longer gain weight in those specific areas, because it is sucking out the fat cells, therefore they are not there to expand when you gain.0

A lot of so called experts I've read articles from say it happens during sleep. So get that 8 hours and let your body work and process those hormones.

It comes off at midnight exactly. If you happen to fly over the international date line whilst in deficit, you've wasted that day.0

But what about daylight savings time man?! Do i get extra credit some times and lose more?!0 -

When does the fuel pump in your car suck up the gas? When it needs it.0

Well, if the clocks go forward, you lose a bit less on that day, and a bit more the following day. And vice versa for when they go back. Obviously.0

The end products of fat metabolization are water and carbon dioxide. When you lose the water and C02, you've lost the fat weight.0 -

Saskatchewan doesn't do daylight savings. Poor Saskatchewanians.0 -
from what I hear the weight loss fairy comes between 12am and 4am and verifies your deficit and then confirms your weight loss....0

Here is a page with cross-sections. Cross-sections = Science.
When we lose weight, where does the lost weight go?

You seek a simple answer to a complex question:

Not a science nerd - just trying a purely speculative common sense analysis - you eat at a calorie deficit so that you are taking in less "food fuel" than your body is burning - during the day when your are eating regularly you are burning your food fuel - but at night you take in none - so for some period of time in your last hours of sleep and the time before breakfast you have burned off all of yesterday food fuel and your body has to convert body mass to fuel you through your deficit until you begin taking in calories at breakfast
So, I'd say you are probably burning off mass for an hour or two before breakfast.
(But I could be totally wrong)0 -
Your body is constantly either storing or oxidizing fat...0
