    Sure, although not for clothes. Misc household stuff, decorations and so on.

    No, I don't have the patience for that. I buy all my clothes and the kids' clothes online in just a few min.
    I'm a big donator though. All the kids' clothes end up there.

    Yeah, I'm way too cheap to buy nice clothes (that aren't second-hand), I live too damn close to about five thrift stores all in a row, and my weight is still fluctuating enough that sometimes I need to bounce between 34 and 36 waist (especially depending on brand). Not mention, I still own a VCR and happen to really enjoy rediscovering some old classics (Willow, Tremors, It's a Wonderful Life, Dune, Clash of the Titans [oldschool], Frequency) for about 50 cents a pop.

    This. I like name brands but don't want to spend the money to buy new. I'll just wait for someone rich to buy it then get sick of it in a month.

    Yes! I love a mix of old and new. I also like looking out for vintage/retro homewares and furniture, although it seems to have become a lot harder to find things in the past couple of years since upcycling, shabby chic, etc have become 'trendy'.

    We had Value Village back in Oregon. It was like a thrift MEGA STORE compared to the wimpy thrift stores I've been going to in Idaho. Also, due to denser population, there were just a lot of better options.

    Slightly unrelated note: Craigslist in ID super-duper sucks. People think their ratty old couches are worth $200, whereas the finest couch I've ever owned I got for free in PDX off of Craigslist. I miss the selection, be it thriftstore or Craigslist!!!

    Absolutely.. almost all of my wardrobe came from thrift stores, upscale resale shops or yard sales.. I bought a brand new pair of nike tennis shoes with all the stickers and tags still on and only paid $7 at our local thrift store. AND our high school sports program sells these discount cards for local businesses every year and our thrift store gives you 15% off your purchase every time you show your card there.

    Yes, because the things there have already had all the resources used to produce them. The world doesn't need to produce another toaster or shirt, just because I need one. I like the 'recycling' aspect of it as much as the saving money aspect!

    OH yes! But I have a hard time finding things I like in my size for me.. However, my 18 mo old always makes out like a bandit and I have been able to find her name brand stuff like nike and puma for way cheap.. so she always looks decked out but I didn't spend that much. As a single mom with no help from her dad, thrift stores are my go to place. And when I shop elsewhere I'm always hitting the sales rack so I hardly ever pay full price for something...

    Panties are the only thing I own that didn't come from a thrift store and my 3 closets are full of treasures! Sadly, this is the first town I have ever lived in without a thrift store. So I'm contemplating opening one....

    I love thrift shops... most of my décor is second-hand, and also my wardrobe. I often get compliments on both :)

    ABSOLUTELY! There are 5 that i drive by just on my way to work each day :-) i love looking for a bargain & then i can save for things that can't be shopped around for (like braces for both my kids - born 13 months apart).

    This! I only started during my fitness journey. I got so spoiled, now I find it very hard to justify buying at regular prices.

    With the number of sizes I've gone down in the past year, I would be broke if I didn't shop at thrift stores... or I'd have to go naked and I'm fairly certain NO ONE wants to see that!!!

    Absolutely. I have found some really great things at thrift stores. There are a lot of times that I find clothes that still have the original tags on them.
