Get in the mindset that you can do it.
Then do it. And let us help with all our love and support.
Oh, accurately record your food, too.0 -
Good advice Lifeinthebike. I'm trying to get there.0

Weight and log your food accurately, everyday even if you think you've gone over or had a bad day.
Do an 'official' weigh in, Find a day of the week and weigh yourself first thing before you've eaten or drank anything preferably in the same outfit each week or naked.
That way you can track your progress and keep your goals updated to your new size, and you'll have a nice graph to see your hard work at the end.

Also, the search forums tool is fantastic. You can find all sorts of helpful topics that pertain to you!0

I co-sign weighing and logging accurately, even if you've gone over your calories. Sometimes it helps to look back.
Lurk on blogs/forum posts for ideas of what other people are doing for meals and exercise.
Don't just weigh weekly (unless that's triggering for you). I find it interesting how my weight can fluctuate by three or five pounds overnight, only to return the next day.
Oh, and take before pics of your body. I really regret not taking pics until a few pounds ago (I've lost 29 to date).
Concentrate on NSVs as well as scale weight. Thinks like smaller pants sizes and more stamina are so important!0 -

Again, log EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth. You will go over some days. You will go over A LOT some days. And that's ok. Nobody's perfect and you're not competing against anybody. Just know that each meal and each day is a new start and you can do it. There are plenty of people here that will help you when you need it. Good luck!0

Logging everyday - absolutely.
I find that when I consistently log (even if I go over sometimes), I will lose weight over time. Obviously, the more I stick to my calories, the faster I lose, but I still lose regardless as long as I'm within more often than not.
Read the forums. Read and lurk for a while before you jump in. There is a lot of knowledge here, but some lively debates as well (sometimes with two knowledgable parties, sometimes with one knowledgable party and one bro-science person). Try to understand why people are taking a particular stance and you'll get a lot out of the debates. It's easier to do this as a lurker for a while, so that you can be objective instead of having a horse in the race.0
